LSU is the 2nd highest rated SEC team in returning production on offense and defense only behind Tennessee!! Should bode very well for our Tigers!!

LSU is going to shock the world this year!!!

Last year there were 18 teams that returned 16 starters or more, including their QB. Of those 18 teams, 13 had a better record in 2017 than they did in 2016. One had the same record, and only 4 of the 18 had a weaker record.

This is from Phil Steele last year. It's basically the same analysis every year. I'm not sure how many we have coming back, but experience/reps=success. We're gonna be good.

Strange flex. That means there are 14 other teams with better production returning.

In your statement you could probably replace "better" with more.

I wonder if Connelly includes Chaisson on those numbers. Ed Ingram would obviously also be a valuable returning player if he's reinstated.

That is why expectations are high. We should be in the playoffs this year.... barring unforeseen circumstances

This would be the natural progression that Orgeron has the Tigers on at this time. Heck, if LSU would have beaten Fla. and TAMU, they would have been in the CFP last season. I don't think last years team really understood how good they were. Should have beat Fla and TAMU. Should not have beat bama but should not have lost 29 to 0 either. But with last seasons freshmen gaining a year of experience and this talented group coming in, these guys should be pretty darn good.

Yep. Unless Burrow is injured, we should make the playoff.

I don’t see how we make the playoffs but 2nd in the West is again achievable

Comparatively LSU was ranked 122nd in returning production in 2018 and dead last in the SEC.

Look at those 14 teams and consider the overall talent discrepancy between LSU and the rest. LSU has all of the experienced talent returning plus all of the young talent that has not yet been utilized.

Stupid article. Top tier programs just plug in new starters that are better than other teams returning starters. How concerned were we in 2012 when we lost 98% of our passing production and 2 of 3 leading receivers from an SEC Championship team?

Is it? The majority of the fanbase has begun to settle for mediocrity. They pretend that only losing 3 SEC games & beating UCF in the Fiesta Bowl was a big deal

Their offensive performance in the SEC and against top defenses says otherwise.
