It's pretty tough to tell this early, but I do agree with the posters who think Josh Dwor would fare better at OT than guard. Since Hurst has played some at guard, it's too bad they couldn't switch positions, but it may be too late to do that, since Dwor has started at guard for the last two seasons.

Some good stuff and some not so good stuff according to my guestimation. Here is how I see it.

Quarterback- C assuming we get some improvement. And assuming we are talking about JJ. If Mett is in then this grade doesn't count. This grade reflect traditional qb play. JJ running really helps LSU out of some tight spots.

LB- Hopeing for a B. Fearing a C and fingers crossed on for an A. Baker will be fine. If Minter is as good as I thought he was when we signed him I think LB will be fine especially with our coaches.

DB-A Predicting an A but fear that they might be a bit burnable periodically.

WR-A Many unprovens but so freaking deep IMHO that surely we should have three studs on the field at all times even when subing.

OL-B I don't know why the huge optimism at OL. I hope and pray all the A grades turn out to be correct. I am confident they wont suck like a couple of years ago but not so sure that they dominate DL's every game or most games. Running backs will make them appear better than they really are this year I believe. Fingers crossed. If they are an A then the sky is the limit.

DL and DE combined -B+ great talent. I have more confidence in our D line than our O line. I think we will bring extremely good pressure while only rushing 4. Not a one man wrecking crew but steady across the board. One play will be this guy and the next will be someone else stepping up. No weak spots.

This is hardly ever the truth, especially in the SEC. No RB on the roster is special enough by himself to be successful without good OL play. If the backs are running well, it can be directly attributed to good OL play.

So far the qb play still sucks. Good thing the other players helped us win last year.

If our QBs are equal to our WRs then we could be in trouble.

B is way too high a grade for our linebackers and QBs.

D for linebackers and c for QB

I agree that it doesn't matter who the running back is if the line is bad. See Hersel Walker when he went to the NJ Generals. But a good running back will get you extra yards where others fail. Didn't mean to imply that the RB would "make" the OL.

Lots of things can make the offensive line look better than they are and give them better stats. Like a great qb or a great passing game or even a qb that can scramble for first downs when the WR's are covered.

How can you rate the DEs and not mention Mingo.

He may have a spectacular year. He showed flashes of being a tough end to handle. If Brockers can occupy two, better keep a man in the backfield to handle Sam and Mingo.

hopefully Mingo can keep his fingers away from facemasks! if he does, he 'could' have a breakout year.

Simon moved to Safety and Jahkari Gore is a WR now? C'mon DD.

I like Dandy Don and I like his optimism, though he sometimes goes a little further than I would in that regard. I'd have more faith in his forecast if he didn't have Simon at safety and Gore at wide receiver, though.

I've been out on a long and deserved banishment from TD, but felt obliged to make my first post in here.

It's a bad day when you get pwnd by Dandy Don.

Gotta love DD...he always has a great perspective and eventhough I dont always agree, I understand what he is saying. I hope he is with us for many years!
