No, only in your head. Yes, they dropped passes but there were more than a few dropped today.
and there were more than a few that were bad passes that the only reason they came close to being caught was bc of outstanding athleticism on the WRs part.
If a WR has to jump 3 feet of the ground to put his hands on a overthrown ball and gets hit in midair and drops it, you may count it as a dropped pass I count it as a bad pass
Lee and hopefully Jefferson have improved yes, but lets not pretend they are suddenly all-sec QB's. Both will need more 10 yard completions that guys like Beckham turn into 51 yard TDs thanks to YAC
yeah you can shite on the WRs for dropped passes but god forbid you give them credit for making great plays

Holy crap, we're already at week 6.

It's nice to see the change in the passing game through our first five games this year vs last. Below are the stats for each season and includes combined stats for both QBs:
2010 (Jefferson)
53/86 (61.6%)
788 yards (158 ypg)
5 TDs (+2 rush TDs for 7 TDs total)
2 INTs
2011 (Lee)
64/108 (59.3%)
793 yards (159 ypg)
7 TDs
1 INT

Just Me wait till the end of year to post stats against this year. I would say that a QB that had played all year under center should have better stats than one who has played 5 weeks with one week before opener as 1st string.

It's no contest. Lee has obviously started stepping into every throw. I don't like the finishing of drives by diff. qbs.

Why do you insist on comparing the end of one season to the beginning of another? Players are expected to get better as they get more exprience

Horrible analogy.

We had dropped passes last year. This is a con ern moving foward. Completion pct is going down every game. Not good.

Jesus, you don't have to put one down to lift up your pet. LSU had the drops today, get over it. Dropping passes is part of the game. All were catchable, but LSU won the game by a healthy margin so no harm done.

Bad pass or not if a reciever gets both hands on a ball it is his responsibility to catch it. Some were bad passes, no doubt about it and the only reason some were considered drops was because of the exceptional athleticism our recievers have. But if you can get to the ball you catch the ball, the cold hard truth is outside of beckham we are not blessed with sure handed recievers. Great athletes? Without a doubt. Good hands? Not even mediocre today

Had plenty of dropped passes last year as well and fans were blaming JJ. This year the drops are the receivers fault. Unbelievable. The Beckham TD was all him breaking tackles to the endzone. Passing game today was terrible.

As a QB gets more experience, the QB get better.
What you seem to willingly ignore is that experience does not disappear.
The QB that Jefferson was at the end of 2010 is probably the QB that Jefferson is now. He is probably not the QB he was at the start of the 2010 season.
So, it makes sense to use the stats from the way he played at the end of the 2010 season to determine what he is like right now. Then compare that to the way Lee is right now.
In deciding who should play QB right now or very soon, it's irrelevant what Lee will be like at the end of 2011. Just like it's irrelevant what Jefferson will like at the end of 2011.

Then explain how the GaTech JJ became the games Sept, 2010 JJ. Cuz I'm betting he regressed like he did from '09 to '10

Are you aksing why Jefferson had five bad games in 2010? I don't know. There could be any number of explanations. Slumps and bad games are a part of all sports.

A QB is rarely the QB he is from beginning to end of a season. I have no clue if JJ is better, he very well may be. He may not be either, it's impossible to know. Comparing stats from last year for any QB on the LSU team to stats this year are totally meaningless in any context. He looked decisive running the ball today, like he did last season an that is pretty much all "we" know at this point. I would assume Lee would be much better at the end of this season than he was at the beginning as well and will be improved over the first half of the season.
Comparing a QB at the beginning of one year to another at the end of the previous is silly. Hell, comparing anything now to last year is silly. It's basically a new offense.

Read more carefully counselor. I'm saying his regression from A&M to now is probably on par with his regression from PennSt to Tenn (the 5th game of last yr)
Penn State 13-24-1 54.2 202 1 39 2-17 130.28
Tennessee-- 3-10-2 30.0 30 0 17 0-0 15.20
That was no progression. To have 7 games in a row where he didnt throw over 100 yds? Sorry, he regressed

I think these conditional fans are just digging hard and deep for something that isn't there. It's been my contention since '08 that LSU needed both Lee and JJ to be a "complete QB" simply because of the previous QB coach. I don't think this year is any different. Personally, I don't care if one is better than the other ...but I don't understand why it's so important to some people.
