Say what you will about midweek games, but this is not a sign of success.

Ole Miss nearly lost to a SWAC team. Their win is worse than our loss.

There are philosophical things I disagree with regarding Mainieri, but losing a midweek game by tinkering with a lineup isn’t one of them

You have to try hard to think of these lame ideas

No panic here just calling it like I see it.

As far as tinkering with the lineup, I get it. But the offensive production was garbage last night.

The 2011 baseball team went 12-2 in the midweek

The 2017 team went 8-6.

Which team had the better season?

This isn't only about LSU.

It's about the bigger picture. How does LSU compare to the rest of SEC?

Florida won it all in 2017.
Arkansas played for the championship in 2018.
Vanderbilt won it all in 2019.

LSU baseball should be the premier progam in the SEC. End of story.

#3 Louisville lost to Wright State last night 7-1. McDonnel is a name many on here have mentioned as a wish to replace CPM.

I left it out because I was replying to the poster that brought 2017 up.

That's our best season in recent years and we didn't even have the best season in the SEC.

Yes, all of our players that were highly sought after have turned to shite overnight, and our hall of fame coach is a dumbass, and our pitching has dwindled to nothing since Indiana.

It is over.

This was a great way to think about LSU baseball 20 years ago. No one will dominate for periods of time any longer. It is too tough to recruit the right players that will sign and produce while also playing the 'what will MLB do' game.

You have to put together a team that can compete, which ours can, a team that can pitch, which ours can, a team that can defend, which ours may can.........and then you let the season run the course.

Read Adam’s post in the Skip thread. Basically 7 first time starters. Four of them true freshman.
