Go read the other post from MJM or whatever the guy's name is......

He came in this thread with a pretty benign/innocuous comment....that being that the Robertsons were frauds.

Yet, when you read his other posts, here's a guy that really isn't worried about the authenticity of the Robertson crew, and whether or not they are frauds. That's not why he hates them. He hates them because politically, socially, and spiritually, the Robertson's are on the opposite spectrum of MJM.

MJM, as ascertained by his other posts, is a fellow that fully supports gay rights, liberal pot laws, and abortion. Unlike the Robertsons, who identify themselves as Christians, MJM identifies himself as an atheist.

So, MJM and other detractors feel the need to make disparaging remarks about Duck Dynasty and its personnel, but their comments aren't really aimed at the show's content or entertainment value. Rather, the comments are aimed at the values held by those that star in it.

Consequently, folks like me, and others who tend to more fully identify with the Robertson's view of life feel the need to come in and defend it. And that's the answer to your question. Why do people come in and "white knight" the show? Because most folks don't like their general view of life, religion, spirituality, and morality ridiculed. It's a pretty important part of many folk's identity.

Clearly nobody hates on Duck Dynasty because it is a shameful representation of their home state. Nobody hates Duck Dynasty because it's just utterly terrible. It's all due to religious hatred.
