LSU-Ole Miss winner goes to Orlando?

I think so. I think if we win this game we go to the Cap One regardless what happens with Arkansas. If we lose to Ole Miss we go to the Cotton. If we lose both we go to Atlanta.

I would be just happy with that! We need to get the 2004 replays out of existence!

Cap One is required to take the SEC team with the best overall record, or a team with no more than 1 loss than the best record(this was institued after LSU got shafted and fell all the way to Peach after the SEC champ game in 2005).
So if we win out, we're 10-2, there's no 9-3 teams in the league, we go no matter what.
If we beat OM, but lose to Arky, we're 9-3, OM and Arky are 8-4. Cap One could take either one, but I have to think were more attractive to them.
If we lose to OM, but beat Arky, OM is 9-3 and probably goes. We're 8-4, Arky is 7-5 and we go to the Cotton.
If we lose both, it gets real interesting. OM is 9-3, Arky and us are 8-4, but we have a 2 game losing streak and lost to both. OM to Cap One, Arky to Cotton. Does Atlanta want us since we were just there last year, and are starting the 2010 season there in August? I doubt it. So that would mean LSU to Liberty or Music City

That looks like a very solid breakdown. I seem to hear every year that the Outback Bowl has a tie-in with the Eastern Division but isn't completely obligated to take an East team. That might be another possibility if we lose out and fall past the Cotton.

You're assuming Ole Mrs beats MSU. Don't think that's a given this year.

In the bowl pecking order the Outback is actually on equal footing with the Cotton.

I would rather be in the sugar bowl--I always love that home field advantage!! You know other teams just hate playing LSU in New Orleans!! I still have a bad taste after the Cap One lost to Iowa. Myself, my wife, and my brother took that long drive from dallas/fort worth to attend that game. It was very disappointing. The best thing about the game was the beautiful weather and we had sideline passes for the third quarter.
That all being said I predicted a 9-3 regular season in the summer. and I still feel that will be the numbers here in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't mind being proven wrong--but if we play Ole Piss like we did La Tech--we're gonna lose

True, but I'm thinking this might be an odd year where an 8-4 LSU team would be less attractive than Arkansas to the Cotton, but more attractive than the second place SEC East team to the Outback. Just an observation- I think we'll be 9-3 anyway.
Edit: on second thought, Arkansas already played in Dallas this year, so that might play into it.

I'd rather make the short trip to the Cotton Bowl. Isn't it being played in the new stadium?

Its either Cap one or Cotton. Providing LSU doesn't lose to Ole Miss and Arkansas. Losing both games would probably mean falling down the ladder a bit.
