but I don't see how anyone could think this as of now
the definition of the word potential is needed to comprehend this discussion. Without that understanding, you have no place in the discussion.

I think the offense is a year away from that POTENTIAL.

My point is that the upside of the offensive team members, inclusive of the very strong Oline in 2015, is extraordinary. Not just the skill position players. In 2016, the skill players will be the same, or better, but the Oline will not likely be as strong.

RB - advantage 2015 or maybe a draw.
FB - 2013
TE - 2015
WR - 2013
Line - 2015 by a lot
While I think we have a stud RB group just remember the 2013 team has two guys starting at RB in the NFL and two backups at RB.

If our QB play is like it was last year ... it wouldn't matter if we had Jerry frickin' Rice.
On a positive note, it couldn't be much worse at QB play.

Those offenses both choked when it counted in big games during their respective seasons.
There is another 2 phases of football that the players on offense can't control.
Our 2006 & 2013 offense's were great.
2006 OFFENSIVE NATIONAL RANKINGS
5th in yards per play
9th in points per play
2013 OFFENSIVE NATIONAL RANKINGS
12th in yards per play
9th in points per play
Both of those offenses were great.

Best Offense with POTENTIAL was the Offense that Jared Lee directed before Les decided to retreat back to the Thug JJ. The win over Oregon to begin that season was a thing of beauty
You can't be serious? While that was the GOAT LSU team, it certainly wasn't a well oiled machine on offense. And that QB who was a thing of beauty went 10-22 in that game for 98 yards. That's an AJ level performance for comparisons sake.

Nailed it. And that's assuming Harris can be the QB we hope he is.

failed to rally us against Georgia in what was an offensive game.
Na. OBJR's punt fumble is what killed us.
Mett was great in 2013. He had the second best passing season in lsu history.
He is 1 of 3 players to throw for 3000 in a season.
He was the 1st lsu qb, ever , to have back to back 2500 yards seasons.
He is 6th in career passing tds at lsu.
He was good at lsu.

Did you even watch the game?
JLEE threw for 98 yards and have less than 50% completion. Of that was a thing of beauty then Jennings had multiple games ,last year, that were things of beauty.

It'll take some doing to beat the offenses of: 2001, 2006, 2007 and 2013.
Other pretty good ones:
1969, 1977, 1982, 1986, 1987, 1997, 2003.
