No they won't, they will try to stop him with 7 defenders. If LSU can't have at least modest success running on an unloaded box, they aren't going to win.

Agreed. Nick and Kirby are not fools. They've seen enough of the LSU passing game the past 3 weeks to know they will get burned if they load the box. Heck, the Tiger receivers were open all over the field last year but had too many drops and errant throws. Won't be the case this time. They will try and fail to contain the running game with 7; hedge their bets with run blitzes and cheating safeties and then Harris and co. will torch them. Bama's defense is not that much better than Florida. In fact some of the talking heads look at the OM film and say Florida is better. Either way, this LSU offense will move the ball and score enough to win the game, IMO

I think both teams come out and do what they're good at. I see no reason for LSU to be pass happy at first and I see no reason for Alabama to sell out against run at first. I see both teams sticking to what they're good at and adjusting as they see fit.

I'll admit I drink during the games, but it seems to me LSU has thrown a lot more passes in the 1st half as opposed to the 2nd half.

We can get down quick and running the ball into the ground isn't going to keep up

We can get down much quicker throwing an early interception or suffering a sack and fumble. There is a reason Harris has only one turnover on the season: it's because they've protected him.

They need to mix the pass in on early downs, but it would be a mistake to start chucking it. Let the best player in America have his cracks. If Bama is loading up to stop the run, then punish them with deep throws. But I don't think Bama is going to bring the extra safety up - not unless we prove they need to.

only things that scares me about this game is the 0-1 WR set. BAma will have 8 lineman/LB's in if we come out in this formation and we will not be able to run.

Bama might indeed have more defenders in the box, but we'll have more blockers. Bama still has to decide whether to use the extra safety for run support or deep help. If they keep him playing over the top, then LSU has the numbers advantage and the odds are good we can run the ball.

This Les Miles and LSU not Sean Payton. We will do what we do and see if Alabama can stop it. If they can't (which is a real possibility given the caliber of our line and backs) then we keep doing what we do. If they do stop if then we will pass more but only to set up the run. We will never abandon the run. My fear is that we get a lead and try to take the air out of the ball too early like we have done several times this season. Alabama is not MS State. We can't take our foot off of the neck. We keep up the intensity and play for 4 quarters then we win the game. The defense will soften up against the run after pounding it for 3 quarters.

I completely agree, and I pray this is what happens. But I am 99.9% sure they will pass the ball AT MOST 15 times.

I've said it before but I would really like to see Harris on the zone read where he fakes the give to Fournette and acts like he is going to keep it long enough to suck up the LB's and DB's and then toss it over their head to a WR. I believe Dak did this to LSU for TD, the play where they said all of his body had to be past the LOS and I think the Ole Miss QB did it to Bama as well.
