agree. But it's obvious from some of the responses that "once a negatiger always a negatiger" Some people wouldn't be happy no matter what and as far as I'm concerned they can go find themselves an "elite" (by their definition) program to follow and STFU.
Les Miles....

He did in fact say those words at a press conference. I personally heard it.

When Les Miles, a Michigan man, turned down the great program of Michigan, LSU climbed another step on the ladder of the elite programs
Yup, agreed. This was great for LSU.

LSU been ahead of Michigan since 2001

But he has a championship, through whatever Voodoo magic happened in 2007. So you can't argue with the results.
Only a handful in that group have done the same.
Exactly. Add to this that no one on that list has a winning record against Miles at LSU and none of them except Miles (and possibly Mack Brown) won 5 games against Final AP Top 15 teams en route to a NC. Also, most of those coaches play cupcake schedules in weak conferences. Only coach Miles faces Alabama, Auburn, and Florida EVERY year.

I never heard Saban publically state such a fact.
Then you need to wake up...he did state that he should never have left.........

LSU did not climb anything, wow the amount of crap people invent.
BS. There was a time not long ago (5+ years) where turning down Michigan even if it meant a paycut to stay at LSU was a no brainer.
Circa 2002, if you get offered the Michigan job you don't blink an eye. You just go.
LSU can now KEEP the coaches that get them to the championships. That's not something we could say even as recently as our last coach.

Can't - this predates the internet!

Every single one of these collegiate coaches has led a team to a season with one or less losses except for one.
