Correct. And a loss to A&M will not drop us out of top 8

Was at home. The only one I can think of that compares is A&M over Arkansas. But that was 2/3 not a sweep and we aren’t really competing with A&M for a top 8

Going back to 2015, here is where 19 win SEC teams were seeded

2015
Florida - 5

2016
Florida - 1
LSU - 8

LSU and Florida had the 4th and 5th best records in the conference.

2017
Kentucky - NO NATIONAL SEED

2018
Arkansas (18 wins) - 5
Ole Miss (18 wins) - 4
UGA (18 wins) - 8

No one with 19 wins in conference play

2019

No one with 19 wins in conference play. LSU had 17 and we're given no. 13 overall. Finished 5th in conference with four 20+ win teams.

2020

N/A

2021

Vanderbilt - 4

2022

Texas A&M - 5

2023

Vanderbilt - 6
LSU (29 conference games) - 5

2024

Texas A&M - 3

In the last 10 years, 8/9 19 win teams have been national seeds. 3 18 win teams have been national seeds.

Conclusion - 19 win LSU is a national seed.

LSU and Georgia are the only teams with fewer series losses than road series played against Top 25 (ELO/RPI) opponents. Who exactly do you think has done well on the road?

5-1 in the next 6 SEC games locks a top 8 seed.

4-2 makes a pretty strong argument for a top 8.

Anything less than 4-2 and it's pretty unlikely.

You get Arky in your own back yard and finish the season at a very average South Carolina. If you can't at least get to 4-2, you're probably not a title contender anyway or you'll be strong/hot enough to win in the postseason on the road anyway.

SEC gets 4 of them.

If it comes down to LSU fighting for a top 4 spot in the SEC, the chances are good that there will be 5 SEC teams in the Top 8.

Yeah, strong teams can win on the road. And that’s clearly not us.

When updated rankings come out Monday both LSU and Arkansas will be in top eight.

The rankings are irrelevant. It doesn’t matter what random sportswriters or what Kendall Rodgers thinks. You have to go off what the committee always does. RPI is always huge. SEC standings if a game difference probably will not matter. If they are deciding among two teams head to head will come into affect.

As of now LSU is definitely a top 8 seed. Not taking the series next week is what puts them in jeopardy. Taking it is a damn near top 8 clinching notch in the belt due to what Arky would do to the resume. Losing to them or god forbid getting swept leaves you with scar who could actually hurt your metrics when competing with other SEC teams the following week due to RPI. The others will have better opponents. Taking the series from Arky you just do not have to completely choke at scar. You do not even need to sweep

4-2 with arky series win keeps your RPI up and Auburn off your back you would get a head to head series SWEEP looked at if they are just a game from you in a team vs team critic in the committee room

- Texas just got swept at Arkansas, the only Top 25 team they’ve played on the road.

- Arkansas lost their last 2 road series at Florida and Georgia. They do have 2 road series wins, but lost at home to A&M.

- Georgia got swept by Texas and Vandy with a road series win over Florida as their only one over the Top 25.

- Auburn was swept by Texas and Georgia with their first Top 25 road series win this weekend over Tennessee.

- Tennessee does have two Top 25 road series wins, but they’ve also lost 3 home series.

- Vandy has lost 3 of 4 road series like LSU, but also got swept at home by Arkansas.

- Clemson just lost 2 straight road series going 1-5 against their first two Top 25 road opponents.

- Florida St has won 1 of 2 road series against Top 25 opponents, but also lost at home to Wake.

- UNC lost their only Top 25 road series and also lost at home to Stanford.

- Oregon St lost their only Top 25 road series against Oregon and also lost a road series to Nebraska.

I’m running out of candidates for strong teams who win on the road. Arkansas and Tennessee are the only ones with more than one road series win over the Top 25 and both offset with home series losses (3 of them in Tennessee’s case).

We did give the game away and could have won all three. The losses were marginal and will not matter at all in three weeks.

Welcome to SEC baseball. I'm sure Tennessee felt the same way last week. "That's baseball!"

There it is. There are no good teams this year and the entire committee is just asking everyone to pack it in. No one will be crowned champion this year.
