True...But there are some glaring problems, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, that need to be addressed and rectified, ASAP. Our QB's decision making is but a small part of the problem.

I don't know if Jefferson can be an elite QB or not. I do think the kid is scared to make a mistake but even if Crowton is gone next year will a new OC make a whole lot of difference with a QB that is already lacking confidence and probably having to learn a new system?

I agree with this. But I would also include poor blocking and the inablity of the line to open up holes on the run.

Of course GC should shoulder some of this blame

JJ is as mediocre as JL only difference he can scramble
On the sidelines last night JL looked as interestred as a three year old ill be surprised to see him back next year.

That horrible QB we have in Jefferson is second in the SEC in completion %. How is that possible?

I agree that JJ has improved this year but the concern is that he doesn't go through his progressions at all. He "dials" in to one receiver on most plays. The fact that the coaches don't have enough confidence in him to audible is hurting the Tigs as well. When I get home and watch the replays I've notice how little television shows multiple occasions where receivers are running free in the open and JJ doesn't see them.

did you ever stop to think that the problem isn't JJ, its the complete lack of coaching.

I think, given the offensive coaching staff and lack of a designated QB coach, JJ has done a great job.

He still takes bad sacks, which is attributable to youth and lack of coaching but he he is still one of the highest rated passers in the SEC

Can anyone on the boards really say you have confidence in Jefferson to lead this team on a game winning drive to score a TD

Well he did it against UGA and ge did it last night to tie the game. So, yes I know he can get it done. I still maintain coaching is holding him back.

Yes, our offensive coaches have proven to be completely incompetent. Thanks for proving my point

Wrong, Jefferson holds onto the ball way too long. His fear of throwing an INT has put our offense behind the yard markers and in 3rd and longs all season. He fails to properly work through his progressions. The O-line hasn't been the best in the country but Jefferson has made them look pathetic on paper. Jefferson shows ability at times but until we improve at the QB spot and coaching (among other things) we will be watching UF and Bama play in Atlanta every year.

I think it was obvious how bad our Oline is on the play where the defender just ran free untouched and JJ avoided the sack because of pocket presence and mobility. He has it. It's there, but any qb needs time or he's going to struggle. It happens to the best. And about his performance and stats, keep in mind that Mathew stafford didn't have a single 300 yd passing game until his last year.

Your right. Jefferson was not a 5 star recruit in High School. Hopefully he progresses or we get a 5 star QB otta HS.

Yes, it has nothing to do with a nnexistant running game and coaches who abandon plays that work.

JJ is not perfect, but he isn't out problem

No....20 plus yrs of coaching exp is what qualifies them as experienced.
One season is what JJ has to hang his helmet on.

So because they have 20+ years of experience means theyn are elite coaches. Did you watch the Ole Miss game?

I don't know how anyone can look at JJ and NOT think he would be better with a decent offensice coordinator and god forbid a real QB coach

Some folks here think that due to good stats, Jefferson is a good QB. Stats lie folks. That completion percentage is high because instead of throwing the ball away, he takes a sack. I wonder where he ranks in "taken sacks" this season.

LSU has the WORST offense in the SEC. LSU ranks #100something in total offense. By no stretch of the imagination is this only on Jefferson....hardly. But he is a liability out there IMO. Better play from the QB position this year could have won us a couple more games.
