My season tickets in the South Endzone were not $200/ea for SHSU.

but with the tradition fund factored in they are a lot more than they should be. split the tradition fund evenly between games and what is your cost for sam Houston, $75/ticket? well worth it right?

Maybe I'll feel this way when I get older, but I enjoy every game. Some people look at it as paying for an event, and want what they paid for to entertain them. I'm going there to watch a football game.

$75 for a sam houston state game isn't what I would call a "value"

80% of my Tradition Fund is tax deductible so it ends up being like $7/game extra.

No they aren't. If you aren't a broke arse college student who the hell wants to have to go to campus and worry about whether or not you can get the number of tickets that you want together and have decent seats? I live in Houston. I'm not driving in and then "winging" it on gameday for tickets.

quote:

you can pay way over face value for bama. face value for ole miss. pay next to nothing for the rest and you come out saving a ton

Factor this is and the fact that the TAF donation is tax deductible and you don't save "a ton of money".

will probably have better seats than you would if you had season tickets.

I don't know how you figure this, but that's a pretty dumb statement.

No shite. I'm 28 and married and still enjoy going to the games with my wife and my parents. I like watching LSU play. I don't give a shite about the opponent. I'm not going to cry like a school girl because we are playing Sam Houston State instead of Penn State. I'm there to enjoy an LSU football game and all that goes with it and have a good time with my family. I honestly feel sorry for those people that can't do that.

We ended up eating all 6 tickets for the Furman and Kent State games last year.

Literally NOBODY wanted them, for free.

people left tickets on the ground near the entrances when literally no one walking around needed any tickets.

how? try becoming a new season ticket holder. you get bad seats.

never bought tickets on the internet before? there is no "winging it" involved. hell, for all the bad games you can get good tickets on here for under $10.

I don't care that you live in Houston.

LSU games just aren't that much fun. It's a good time when people are amped up for a quality game against an Alabama, Auburn, or even State and Ole Miss but there's literally nothing that makes attending a game against Sam Houston or ULM more fun than watching at home with friends or at a bar

A lot of season ticket holders I know have no problem paying these funds, ect because they see it as their way of giving back to their alma mater.

It wasn't too long ago the fans still made it to lsu games vs weak opponents, they made it but left after half time.

Now with LSU charging for parking, having no traffic plan or little coordination on traffic flow and lots open, fans would rather stay home.

4-5 yrs ago fans would come and tailgate, attend a little bit of the game then go home. There have been some tailgating restrictions and having to pay a $50 trailer fee, fans just are not tailgating for small games either.

This is a big problem and not just at LSU. College football attendance is dropping every year. This should not be a big surprise as the cost go up quantity sold goes down, Econ 101. But the amount of disposable income is also dropping each year as well for a majority of Americans. Joe Bob can't afford LSU season tickets anymore. States are cutting funding to colleges everywhere they are trying to make up the revenue and there you have the downward spiral. Hence, you get less people at games, more corporate ticket fans, etc etc.

This is a trend that will unfortunately continue for a long time. It is essentially another bubble just like the rising cost of college and it will bust.

The trailer fee was one of the dumbest things LSU has done. They did it thinking that would convince the fraternities to move their setups to their houses. Well they all have flush social budgets and just fork over the $50.

If they had Wisconsin at home along with bama, MSU, Ole Miss, Kentucky would people still say it is terrible?

If Wisconsin were a home game, I would complain a lot less. I absolutely hate neutral site games.

What incentive is there for people to tailgate for 12 hours, pay ridiculous amount of parking to watch LSU kill somebody 56-0.

I never understood how average fans see any value in absolutely wasting their time unless they're just die hard drunks who look for an excuse to sit around and drink with lawn furniture.
