Actually I think Dave Aranda might have been involved in this hire.

He might have wanted him brought over from William & Mary so he could bust Darren Sharper out of the clink to play free safety.

In 2018, William & Mary ranked 121st out of 124 teams at the FCS level with 13.6 points per game, and the Tribe ranked 122nd with 241.5 total yards per game

With those numbers he could be a great plug in at Defenesive coordinator

So is everyone else.

Everyone else isn't doing it. There are plenty of teams that have no analysts. Teams ahead of the curve are adding analysts. Others are playing catch up.

So it's your position to just do nothing. Just do nothing and complain. Sounds like you've got a good plan.

Still trying to deflect from getting embarrassed. Never change whoever you are. I've never noticed you before this thread but you seem to know who I am.

If you're striving for excellence you strive for excellence in every facet. If he's going to be the waterboy he better be the best damn water boy ever. He better be bringing you Perrier on a silver platter. This mentality is what separates guys like Will Wade and Nick Saban from guys like Les Miles and Ed Orgeron.

Nick Saban runs the coaching rehabilitation clinic. He hires seemingly every disgraced, fired coach to be his analyst. Analysts study film to prepare reports on opposing teams. This thread is much ado about nothing.

I'm not defending the hire, this guy may actually suck, we will never really know. That being said, there are a lot of factors that ultimately determine stats, a lot more factors than how good an OC is or is not. How many drives the offense has the ball on average-if your defense can't stop the other team they will just drive the ball down your throat taking minutes off the clock and decreasing your possessions. An OC can have the perfect game plan and scheme devised to compete against a team-but if your oline is crap your offense will be crap or if your QB is crap your offense will be crap, or if your RB is crap your offense will be crap or if your receivers can't catch (like Justin Jefferson had an issue with at times) your offense will be crap. You have a very innovative and excellent OC-but if the HC wants to dictate what offense is ran and what plays are called what's the point (something us LSU fans have had experience with while two different coaches have manned the helm at LSU). Regardless how good your players may or may not be-turnovers can kill an offense. Not just on that particular drive, but morale and unity.

Point is you can't always judge an OC by stats. You need to look at contributing factors to make a correct determination. And after looking at William and Mary from this past season I can say their defense was horrible. Offense did good against some teams but were outmanned by others.
