In 2008, people could wait to bench Lee and many didn't care if he even transferred. JJ was the supposedly the best thing since sliced bread and this is before he played a single snap for us.

Now Lee is the savior because JJ can't get it done. Soon its going to be Mettenberger followed by the next kid we recruit.

Maybe LSU fans need to stick to the one savior system before asking Miles to do it. We're doing ourselves no favors by constantly hoping for the next guy to be good. I know hindsight is 20/20 but if we had just stuck will Lee, we would be in a better position today.

I think you meant to say Chris Garrett here. ppl weren't really enamored of JJ until they'd actually seen him. Garrett went from Rant legend to NSU xfer in record time though.

I've never thought of JJ or JL as a savior. I just want whoever sucks less at the time. In 08 it was JJ, now its JL. Mettenberger I actually do have huge hopes for. He could be the best QB we've had in a while.

Zach Lee.

For a guy who never took a snap and was a less notable recruit than the two guys we have now, many people on here think he was the second coming.

Jarett Lee. There was a 20 page thread with a title to the same effect. I'll try and find it.

Les Miles made ZLee the savior of the program and he did not even make it to campus.

Exactly. No one seems to remember that Hatch was the starting QB. He had a few rushing Td's (2 I beleive) and was the QB LSU needed at the time. Except he wasn't allowed back in the game after he was hurt.

Should have let him back and not run him off.

JJ was a huge rant favorite before he played. His HS stats were constantly posted here for proof.

I am not saying that he would be the starting Qb now, nor should he be. However, would you rather have had Hatch come back and finish with the same record, maybe an additional win, and let JL get a few practice snaps in the game. JL come in 2009 and take over?

If Hatch wouldn't have gotten hurt then JJ would have never had his chance to play. Thus leaving the race between AH and JL. Lee wouldn't have thrown those pick 6's and we possibly look at a different 2009/2010 season.

Replace JJ with Hatch and ask yourself what we would be losing today. All hindsight ofcourse.

Wow...so let's just accept the fact we have a terrible QB coach who really can't coach to save his life

LSU has not truly had a "savior" at qb since josh booty That worked out real well...but really we have not had a big time recruit at qb since rp and he only played one game. As and lsu fan i am starving for a big time qb recruit to get excited about and i just hope Mett lives up to the hype.

No, fire the coach instead of ruining QB after QB.

In we you mean the fanbase? We don't make the decisions, Les does. Take it up with him.
