LSU Has a New Offense

After watching their team go through 7-on-7 work this offseason, Ed Orgeron asked Dave Aranda his thoughts on the offense.
Aranda was the best person to ask. He’s one of the top football minds in the country, and he’s the person working against the LSU offense every day.
“The quarterback knows exactly where to go with the ball,” Aranda said. “Those guys are prepared.”

Moments like these display the value of having a quarterback returning after a full season at the helm. Maybe more importantly, it shows the value of Joe Burrow being in Baton Rouge for his first full off-season.
quote:
Burrow isn’t able to take contact this spring, still recovering from a procedure on his left arm in January, but sources also said he insisted on being involved so he’s fully prepared for the offensive changes in 2019.
The exact changes in LSU’s offense aren’t 100 percent clear, but most of them can be traced to the addition of new passing game coordinator Joe Brady from the New Orleans Saints.
Orgeron said Thursday (March 7) it’s a “new offense” in 2019 that will see LSU spread the ball around more and use different formations.
That was also the plan in 2018, and LSU spread the ball the most it has in years, but injuries and pass protection issues limited its ability to fully commit to it. Mix a healthier, more experienced offense with the addition of Brady, and there will be more changes.
“We’re implementing the run-pass options that Joe brought in,” Orgeron said. “We’re implementing the Saints’ passing game that Joe brought in.”
quote:
In LSU’s 4th Quarter training program, Brennan was one of the standouts. Orgeron said he was one of the few players he’d call “elite” from that training, and he added 11-to-12 pounds.

Anybody feel like Joe Brady looks like a younger Matt Canada. When I saw the clip of him yesterday I thought it was old footage.

Burrow’s going 4500 38/3 this season.

Again? How many times is this, just in the last 10 years?

LSU is going to be good this year fellas. 2019 is the “next year” we have been lookin for.

Good for Brennan, as for the offense I'll wait and see when the season starts, it's always the same ole same ole.

I do believe this year will be special. I also think Burrow will hand down quite a bit of knowledge of reading defenses to Brennan.

FIFY ^
I'll believe it when I see it. Honestly, we've heard this so many times that it's hard to conceive as truth at this point.
If the offense is more explosive and truly is different, I'll eat my crow, but until then I'll remain skeptical.

The Rant keeps saying that but LSU threw the ball 37% more than Miles' did in his last year. We also ran double the dedicated QB runs and ran RPOs like never before. A healthier and more experienced bunch should produce way more.

I have heard this every single year since 2016.
Wake me up in August.

I hope this is true, but forgive me for being skeptical. This is the same shite we hear every offseason.

And the offense still looked sloppy and conservative. Yes, they threw the ball more, but not in the manner you'd expect them to throw it in that makes a college team look explosive and dangerous.

We've heard similar stuff from Ed before. Just going to have to prove it on the he field. Love the excuses thrown in there too.

The "New Offense" is the new "secret playbook" of the early decade

I too have added 11-12 pounds this off season.

And still put a shite product on the field.
