will hire internally if needed
Defensive coordinator, inside linebackers coach, and associate head coach: Dave Aranda, come on down!

DA has covered all his bases with throwing in that internal hire bit. He cannot be wrong now since he included it. And so many here are going to eat it up.

We have some good coaches and we want to keep them if possible. Most of the overhaul will be on the offensive side of the ball. That's the focus. The new coach will determine is own staff.

I'm not talking making moves mid season. I'm talking about informing certain coaches through runners that we are interested, us (the AD) stfu about it, them lying to the public about interest, third parties hammering out contract issues, season ending for both LSU and the new coach, say goodbye to whoever the new coach doesn't want, and hiring someone who will have the pedigree to kick arse at LSU

Thank god you posted this. Literally no one could have figured that out without an extreme insider posting it.
Suckers are so mad and downvoting.

I mean if he is talking about any of the coaches for any spot not named head coach, yea I think anyone could see that. Duh. If he means the HC, frick that. You dont fire Miles today if you are seriously going to look internally for his replacement.
Keep Aranda and Coach O and go get Herman. Make Coach O the waterboy and pay him 700k to recruit.

That's speaking out of both sides of the mouth.
If we get the guy we need, it shouldn't matter who the fricking administration wants to stay on. They aren't football coaches, and we shouldn't hinder our search for the best because we want to keep certain assistants.

No Petrino, Kiffin or Shaw, either! How many agents have contacted you?

How? What you just said makes it sound like we are going to use the season as a possible tryout for current staff, and will know who is "interested" after the season.
Little info for you, most of the biggest hires are back channeled and we might be behind the eight ball if we just wait until the end of the season to start guaging interest
You are totally misinterpreting what he said. DA did not mean that LSU will just sit back, eat nachos, and then find out who is interested in December. His intent was to say that the coaches at LSU are now coaching for their jobs if they want to remain at LSU. While all of that is going on, all the big work for the next hire will be done behind the scenes. The next head coach will better be able to evaluate who on the staff is worth retaining now that the albatross (both of them) has been removed.

Why is Peveto being kept? Recruiting? Cuz he sucks as a special teams coach in all aspects

Ok. There is ONE way this is a good thing. Only one.

1. None, focus on maintaining what we have until that search is over?
2. Key role?
3. Involved, but only as it involves possible future HBCs already on staff (hire from within evaluations)?

"Choupique19"
I didn't misinterpret anything. There is no other way to read that statement, unless you add what you want to hear into it.

Of course. That makes sense.

Another thing, how are these guys coaching for their jobs if you don't know who the next coach is?
Think about that. It doesn't make sense.
Most coaches want to assemble a staff of guys they already work with, who have coached with them.
