I think they just need +2 to stay at #15 without ties. I don’t know what the tiebreakers would be if they go +3 and tie Pepperdine.

We've got a bogey and a par.
One player, one 420 yard par 4. Must make bogey or better. A double bogey and we tie Pepperdine and have some sort of playoff.

One hole left. Need a bogey to finish +3 and #15 alone. Double bogey throws them into a tie. Not sure of the tiebreakers.

One more score to post. Need a bogey or better to qualify for tomorrow. We aren't far out of 8th place (only 3 back) (which is what we need for match play qualifier tomorrow).

Crap, I kept thinking Pepperdine was at +3. (well, not crap, good news)
You are correct. Bogey or better and LSU advances.

LSU entered the NCAA finals as the #7 seed. There are 30 teams competing.
4 rounds of stroke play with a cut after round 3. Then the top 8 advance to a matchplay bracket for the championship.
LSU completely bombed on day 1 and looked dead. Today on day 3, they have shot the best combined rounds of the entire tournament.
Just one more hole to advance to round 4 where they will only be a couple of strokes out of the top 8 to advance to the championship match play format. Still work to be done, but an amazing comeback nonetheless.

Our tigers are playing the best golf of the tournament today. Their score today is mind boggling and I hope they can advance to the next part of the tournament where match play is important.

They will be 3 shots out of 8th place when they start tomorrow.
Just for comparison, Duke in 8th place shot a combined +3 today.

Getting to the final 15 with only 3 strokes between us and match play is huge! What they did today cannot be overstated enough… it’s more of a long shot than being down one in regionals and coming back… it more like being down 30 in the second half of a basketball game and coming back. But even rarer cause it’s golf and they needed 4 guys to go low in one day. And 1 of the guys shot 64!
