Agreed. I'm willing to bet he was in the native grasses off the tee, though.

When you get to the team scores on the NCAA site, click on the match number (LSU-UCLA is match 2). It'll list all of the individual matches.

So Kaufman just needs to halve 18 to close it out?

But, yea, making a double with the team's season on the line is pretty much choking unless something really strange happened.

Who knows. I don't know the course. But, for example, trying an aggressive shot when your opponent is in tight, and missing slightly resulting in ball in water hazard can turn into a double in heartbeat.

And at the same time, Wright goess dormie for the half point that's now just icing on the cake. Clutch playing for both of them.

There isn't a water hazard on this course.

But I understand what you're saying...

Also, Stanford, who won the stroke play competition by about 10 strokes, is in a dogfight with Illinois right now. 1-1-3 on holes 11-15. Would be something if they lost in the quarters after dominating in stroke play.

Since there's so much more Golf left, they usually just pick up once that hole is done.

Would be nice to see Stanford get eliminated... They're close.

LSU's match this afternoon will be their toughest.

Thankfully they are playing very well right now.

Standford's David Boote birdies 3 holes in a row to take the lead. From 2 down to 1-up thru the 16th.

Heck of a match, but one group is only on hole 11.

Smylie ? When he was about 3. His mom and dad played (and met) golf at LSU in the early 80's. Smylie's grand dad was UAB's golf coach for about 15 yrs until he retired last year.

Didn't realize he had those golfing genes. I have a 4.5 year old so I'm always curious. Can't really teach much at this age, can only expose them to it.

How did he get the name Smylie?
