It’s predicated on having 3 freaks of nature that can take on 5 olineman. LSU doesn’t have that yet. Armada May have to try something new to get pressure. Not working with three without Chaisson.

Lawrence is definitely good enough, he just is constantly banged up.

The others are okay. The big thing is that we have absolutely no depth. Shelvin can't even make the trip he is so bad, Farrell is an average SEC linemen at best, who else is there? We need Ish Sopsher badly. And we need him to be as good as advertised.

Fohoko has been better than Lawrence this year

Ed Oliver was the biggest recruiting miss we had.

Teams can basically focus on Lawrence and Fehoko because Logan is a non factor. I don't think he's even gotten past the opponents line of scrimmage yet. He's been extremely underwhelming. I think our best defensive lineup would be Lawrence, Fehoko, and Alexander. But we are desperately missing a pass rusher from the lb core.

I'm pretty sure that Lawrence is the one that's limping around everywhere he goes. They're obviously banged up pretty good.

The only team I hate worse than bama is Florida.

We were also assured that Aranda was the greatest defensive mastermind in all of CFB. The 2.5M dollar man. When given 3 1st rounders in White, Delpit and Greedy. 2 5 star DL in Lawrence and Fehoko. The D is so good the #1 safety in the country, Stevens can't even get playing time. 5 star Fulton was back to man the other DB spot. The D is nothing but high 4 and 5 star talent.

This D should be an OC's worst nightmare. QB's should be quaking in their cleats. Suffocating. Dominant.

I will say this. Meatball has been a disappointment. And that's on O for promoting him. It's also on him that the DL is not playing as well. He's the former DL coach. But, something is not working scheme wise and that's on the DC, like it or not. We are not producing pressure and in a 3-4 that usually does not come from the DL. If losing Chaisson makes our pressure become impotent then something's not right.

It's not working because they guys behind those 3 missed a ton of tackles. Florida picked up blitzes and we didn't. We had zero sacks. Can't expect 3 guys to dominate 5.

Logan got a lot praise but i.think it was to keep him around. He is not even average he is below average.

yea O Definately believed he was the best in the business. The offense doesn’t help the defense at all. So many three and outs

That’s a two gap scheme and Aranda is running a one gap. Fehoko is there to eat up blocks and seal the A gap and he’s done a great job. The other gap responsibility Is shared between the DEs and LBers and the LBers are supposed to shoot the gaps based on their reads off the guards and tackles. I’ve seen multiple people say “White on the delayed blitz...” when really he’s just reading and attacking his gap.

The bad LB play (outside of White), bad tackling, and lack of pressure from the OLBers has been the main problem. The Dline has been fine, though it’s not as deep as we were told.

Based on the last couple of games, the only one getting any pressure at all is Delpit. How many sacks by a DL the last two weeks?

I think Aranda is very good, but go back and look at our defensive output since 2000. His 3 years here are not as great as you might think and his 1st 2 the D was very low on turnovers forced. It's not an aggressive D scheme. We are allowing offenses to dictate and that should not be the case with our talent. It also seems to rely on having that one all-world rushing threat (ie a healthy Key).

Wisconsin had the #1 defense last year which makes you wonder how good Aranda really is. Kevin Steele went to Auburn and did well last year, but not as great this year. IDK, I guess my expectations are too high for the mad scientist. I bought in to the hype and that has been disappointing.

“We” were assured?? By whom?

The head coach obviously felt assured as well since he paid him more than half of the HCs in the country. Does he suffer any consequences if the defense fails to deliver on their potential or is it all on the man he hired?

If only we had a head coach that could help a struggling coordinator

This is exactly why this CEO model is a fricking joke. Nothing is ever his fault because HE DOESNT DO ANYTHING.

I tell ya it’s good work if you can get it

Agree. Also need to put in linebackers and strong safety that can tackle. Defense was horrible yesterday.
