I was there-- out from California-- first game in Tiger Stadium in about 25 years. My mother's first in about the same time.

She'd grown up in TS.

But there she was, in all of her some 65 years, standing with ponchos in the rain with me awaiting the team's walk down Victory Hill.

I remember that game but wasn't there, the worst i've seen was miss. st. in 96. That was an absolute monsoon.

If I remember correctly, it was an 8PM kickoff for TV, instead of 7PM. It poured until 7:50, stopped raining, and didn't rain again for the rest of the game

Yes, that's right...and then it started just after the game ended. I remember getting into the car, listening to the post-game and seeing it start to come down again.

It never rains in Tiger Stadium.

The GF and I stayed the whole game wearing some trash bags we got at the concession stand. I remember one of the drains in the concourse getting plugged up and the water just started filling up and got ankle deep. One of the custodial staff walked by WITH A MOP AND BUCKET and just said "damn that sucks..." didn't even bother with it

I didn't ask permission, but none of the ticket guys or sheriff deputies said a thing. They were getting closer too...

Yea Miss State in 96 was worse cause it started raining like that AFTER the game started and they never delayed the game or anything! and when I say it poured it was a total flood literally (cause it had been flooding all week in BR). JP 11:30 am start so it was middle of day and it literally looked dark as night, the lights were own and from our view in the west upper deck, it was hard to make sense of the game cause it was coming down so hard. It seemed to last for half the game too with that intensity.

I just member Kevin faulk running the ball and the water was so deep on the field you could hear the players cleats sloshing through the water from the upper deck very wierd game.

Of course the tigers won I mean obviously Miss State haha

It poured buckets!!!

The Fresno fans where still impressed with the noise level and it was 40% filled.
