what is this moxie you speak of.?

Can anyone get it?
How much does it cost?
Can JL borrow some from JJ?
How about Les, can he give JL some?
I want some moxie too.

Too know "moxie" is to understand "moxie"...

1 : energy , pep
2 : courage , determination
3 : know-how

Lee might fit #2 and that's because he lacks #1 and #3...

For the record, JL had a better practice today, per reports. That being said, the same report said that JJ should have little problem holding on to his starting spot.

JJ holding the job is pretty much a given, in my opinion...I would like to see Lee develop and even play some though...BUT, he's gotta get right in the head...

I heard that QB Chris Garrett looked good, too. That kid could be an important part of LSU's offense in a couple of years.

Alot of people don't really know JJ or even take the time to see what kind of kid he truly is...This kid is a winner, he was a winner at Destrehan as well...He won't lose the job and you will be happy he didn't...

That could well be the case, cajun61. But, let's not act like the die is cast w/ either JJ or JL. Lets let them compete, and trust Miles and Crowton to make the correct evaluations.

As I recall, only 1 or 2 of the pick 6's that JL threw were at the line of scrimmage. So who did not make the tackle after the int? Well that is part of it, it is a team game. period. coaches included. Think how strong we would be if JL wins the job by out playing all the others. All good for LSU.

Personally, I think Lee has the skills to potentially set some records at LSU. I'm not too worried about the locking on the receiver issue, because most FR/RSFR do that, but he must develop some leadership skills to ever be able to lead the team. I'm fairly confident in his resiliency given the fact that he lead the team to TD drives after pick-6's, in many cases with great throws.

However, there is no way he starts unless JJ really stinks up the joint in practice. One pick in the first game and his confidence and fan support is shot to hell. To win back the fans, and his confidence, he'll need to come in in a tight spot and lead the team to victory...a la Auburn last year.

JJ has the ability to turn a bad play into a first down by running, which Lee doesn't have. So in a situation where neither QB is dominant, you're going to take that alternative every time.

they were still picks though. if you want to give Lee an out, point to Crowton for calling some of the plays he did. The first drive picks vs. Georgia and Bama shouldn't have been called. Especially Bama, the one good team we played where we didn't have to worry about giving up 40 points. 3 and long inside your 20 to start the game, hand the ball off and punt.

I agree, thus the "coaches included" comment.

I am a little amazed at all of the people being criticized for pointing out the obvious with JL. You can make all of the excuses that you want, poor play calling, he's a freshman, no one tackled the returner, we ran different plays with JL compared to JJ ... blah blah blah, yada yada yada... whatever makes you feel better at night.
The reality is that some people just make dumb decisions and throw interceptions and some people don't.
Jamie Howard - threw ints
Herb Tyler - Didn't
JL - throws ints
JJ - Doesn't
You can demean me if you want and you can say I am dogging on a 20 year old. Fine. I can take it. But you damn well know that as soon as JL gets back into an SEC game with the game on the line, Lord help us, you and me both are going to be sweating our asses off with our fingers crossed that he doesn't perform a Georgia/Florida frickup again, and we aren't going to breathe easy until the last second ticks off with us ahead. Pretend if you want, but you know that shite is true. And the players feel the same way. No one likes waiting for the other shoe to drop and that's why JJ is the starter. I hope he does well, but he is going to have to prove it multiple times before anyone, including his teammates believe in him again.
A season like last year can just ruin a guy. And it sucks not only for him but for LSU as well because we are probably going to need him to play some significant minutes again this year.
Like I said, dog me if you want, but I just have no faith that he is going to be any different this year. Sue me for being realist.

You do know Rohan Davey was a Pick machine when he was an underclassmen right? It is something that can be fixed if it is corrected. From what I understand JL didn't watch film correctly and therefore didn't recognize what he should have last year. That has been something he has been focusing on since the season ended. I personally want the best player playing, so if it is JL fine if it is JJ, fine....."just win baby"
