To say the least, it shows questionable judgement.
Les clearly isn't working these guys hard enough.
I wish we can ban all those old farts that are >45 from this thread.

Obviously JJ saw The Replacements earlier in the day and thought it was a good way to rally the team around him for the upcoming season opener. Leadership baby!

Jokes that are played out and no longer permissible:
1) Jefferson's punching accuracy vs. throwing accuracy
2) How losing Jefferson is actually positive, in whatever clever way you want to phrase it
3) Puns involving "black eyes" on the program or "shady" behavior
Missing anything?

Jefferson, 20, has had not previous run-ins with the law during his LSU career.
"We're in the middle of the investigation right now," Stone said.
Asked if Jefferson or other LSU football players may be arrested, Stone said, "It may come to that, but that's very premature right now."
Jefferson has not yet been interviewed by police.
"We're in the process of trying to interview him today," Stone said. "We'll know more this afternoon, tonight or tomorrow.

Not old, but also not funny, either.

They got the twitter message wrong:
It said Offensive Team will practice at Shady's at 2:00 PM on Friday and they took it to mean 2:00 AM. UNDERTANDABLE!
Big mistake, electronic error, they do not have to wear electronic monitor.

More than 5 players involved is not "just a simple fight" no matter how you slice it!

What I want to know is why Jefferson was at the bar and not on the LNBST?

The football team is schooled on how to handle themselves in public, what to say/not say in the media, etc so when something like this happens I would say more than likely a football player is provoked, especially if multiple players are involved.
I am not saying football players are completely innocent, but think about it. The most unpopular QB arguably in LSU history is out in a bar with a bunch of drunk people. You know at some point, someone is going to say something. More than likely its the kid who is trying to "fit in" so he does something so he can say "I told JJ ________".
This whole situation is just blown out of proportion. I am surprised this stuff doesnt happen more often. Think about it. We are talking about people who play a sport that requires extreme aggression and that involves a lot of passion surrounding it. Every once in awhile something like this will happen.. Big deal.

GFY.
Things in this regard are no different today than they were when you were just an itch in your daddy's pecker.
I stand by what I said. JJ is a senior, and he's supposed to be a team leader. He excercised poor judgement.

Les Miles has lost control over underaged drinking fighting college kids.

Alumni, rich and poor, fly in from out of state, drive in from all over Louisiana and the South,
some in motor homes the night before; set up their elaborate tailgates, tents and canopies with every sort of delicacy, TV's, coolers, etc;
buy and wear their purple and gold, paint their faces, line up their kids for autographs, wait for TGBFTL to walk down the hill, spend hundreds and thousands on football tickets and tens of thousands on suites and donor contributions, buy and subscribe to alumni clubs, TAF, magazines and newspapers, give up their fall Saturdays, support and send their kids to the University -
and it can all be ruined by 20 and 21 year old kids thinking they are cool and can get away with anything because it's 2:00 in the morning, they are big strong and fearless, and no one can mess with them.
It's truly a shame. Do these kids have ANNNNNNNNNNNNNY gray matter at all in their heads? Is there ANNNNY discipline or accountability taking place from the coaches?
If they were truly that fricking g------m stupid, then they DESERVE to have their futures taken away and they will have to be happy driving a truck, stocking shelves, or asking if you want fries with that.
