Well you tend to only go for it on 4th if it's a high percentage play. Not like we're punting on every 3rd a long.

Those offensive stats are particularly concerning when you consider this.
Prior to TAMU game stats
TAMU Stats
Total defense: 45
Scoring defense: 68
Rush defense: 56
Keep in mind the following:
Time of possession: 71
Total offense: 68
Turn over margin: 20
Passing efficiency: 89 (they lost their QB starter in game 1 and have him back now)
2017
Wins
Total Defense: 76
Rush Defense: 81
Scoring Defense: 74
Opponents Records (17 wins against non P5 and FCS schools)
Average wins: 5
Average Losses: 6
Losses
Total Defense: 10
Rush Defense: 3
Scoring Defense: 11

This is not good. It’s not even average. It is bad. And worse than what it has been if you can believe that. We can’t win championships like this. We can’t pay a guy 1.5 million for these results. I have been saying this for a couple weeks and have somehow gotten painted as a pro-O, negatiger, fricking a-hole.
Which is absurd. I have been using objective facts. Look at the teams still in the playoff hunt and see where their offenses are compared to ours. Pretty telling.

With all the coaching changes, hard to believe the SEC West will be this terrible again in 2018. Canada still has my support, but with the exception of the TAMU game, these numbers (on offense) reinforce what we saw all season.
Offense could look very different next year though, so too early to worry, IMO.
