You are very wrong. Tons of FSU fans in Orlando, Tampa, and Miami

These are the types of games that could make going to games interesting again. But, neutral site.

Wish it would be a Home & Home, but the 2023 game is really good timing for me since my son will be turning 6 that year and we can bring him to Disney for the first time.

you're continually biting the hand that feeds you, season ticket sales are waning for a reason.

I'm at the point where I'm likely going to just opt for buying tickets to the 3-4 home games worth a shite and stop paying to watch us scrimmage the SLU's of the world.

these neutral site games under the guise of "recruiting and exposure is bullshite.

short term: more money long term: less money because season ticket holders are bailing and they're begging people to buy tickets.

this is true. Definitely not the way to get fans into Tiger Stadium. Give season ticket holders shitty nonconference games they have to pay for and it they want to go to a good nonconference game, that will cost them extra. I wonder why season ticket sales are falling. Also, the new flex plan is a true FU to the season ticket holders. I know that is a trial this year but if it continues why would anyone continue to pay for season tickets when they can get the flex plan and only attend the good games?

Here we go.

Good news. A series with a REAL program and people can do nothing but bitch about how it’s not a home and home.

Jesus you fricking people. New Orleans and Orlando are literally home and homes. It’s a recruiting tool and exposure thing. LSU gets exposure in FL and FSU gets exposure in NOLA. It’s a win win for both sides.

all of this

Saban is right on when it comes to this, with every game on TV nowadays you need to give people a reason to go out there. Call it being a bad fan, but I just have 0 interest in watching us drub some in state program. I'd rather watch passively from home or a bar while watching the other games going on that don't suck. Its time to move towards an all P5 schedule

I don't think you know what literally means.

this is an outright lie, every game is on TV. The amount of extra exposure you get is negligible at best. Do you really think this factors into the mind of any recruit at all?

It sounds good but there’s a lot more pieces than just that.

Those G5 and FCS programs depend on their games vs P5s like us. We pay them big bucks and that goes toward facilities, scholarships and whatever else for these guys. It’s crucial that they get a game against an SEC team. Plus it’s cool for their fans and players.

If you really understand the bigger picture it’ll never change. The only thing that can happen is one extra SEC game.

1 FCS
1 G5
1 P5
9 SEC
12 games total.

That’s the model that needs to be used. It should be a rule. You don’t HAVE to play 1 FCS but if you don’t you have to play either 2 P5s or 2 G5s.

that sounds like a problem for them. Why do we have to pay to fund their programs?

Yes because if there’s a kid we’re recruiting right now or next year that happens to be from Orlando or NOLA, you can say that if you come to LSU you are guaranteed to play a game in your hometown against FSU.

Dude it’s no secret that Saban uses that model with Atlanta and Texas kids. It fricking works dude. Quit your bitching and wake up. It’s the way things are moving these days. It’s going to happen. We can either get on board with others doing it or be left behind.

Go look at Bama’s Past 8 years or so and how many neutral site games they played and compare that to their recruiting class rankings. We gotta get in that Atlanta rotation more often.

I don’t have an answer but I KNOW that’s the way it is and it’ll always be that way. Politics.

There’s leaders who went to those smaller schools and want to make sure their alma matter doesn’t get fricked over.

Getting stud recruits at a night game in Death Valley is a huge recruiting tool

you're a dumbass if you believe this. The ADs want you to believe this is why they do it, but it has nothing to do with it whatsoever. It's purely a business move.

even if that were true (its not) we base our scheduling around picking up this one hypothetical kid?
