When was the last time a logo made a sack or got a pick 6 against a rival. My point is who gives a F what the logo is. The logo did not when 2 BCS championships. Get over it. I am now off me soap box, thanks

jbirds1- go to www.bernardstudio.com to get the decal. He does some great LSU artwork and I bought a t-shirt for my wife which was purple and had the fleur de lis tiger eye on it. She loves it.

I dont know what the deal is with New Orleans people thinking that the fleur de leis is strictly a NO thing. There are many citys around the country the use it as symbol of the city (ex. Louisville). And when i went to Louisville i saw it more times that i do when i go to new orleans. It is a European symbol that was brought over by the french, and in north america, places that have been settled by french or canadian people use it as a cultural symbol.

The symbol is thousands of years old and comes from the middle east. It is a flower or lilly. It first represented fertility because of its shape "hint". It represents the male and female. No one has a trademark on it.

Really? You're not going to make it your mission in life to destroy all LSU fleur de lis?

What other team in the country could use this? Answer is Nobody.

Answer is the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, since forever ... unique it ain't. People steal symbols & ideas, fark everything ... it's fine no harm in it and if you like it then use it wherever you like. If you prefer traditional, then a fleur-de-lis says the Saints and ULL, not LSU.

LSU is the flagship university for the STATE of Louisiana, it represents more than just the city of Baton Rouge. Even still the fleur de lis is on the flag of the city of Baton Rouge. The fleur de leis, as discussed, is increasingly associated with the State of Louisiana, as well as the city of New Orleans. LSU has the responsibility of appealing to a lot of demographics and making money. I think this accomplishes both and is completly appropriate to associate LSU with the fleur de leis. What could possibly be gained by disregarding the fleur de leis?

Sorry, but when people think of LA, they think of LSU, not ULL. So I didn't consider them in my "who else could use this." They are not dominating in anything, so who would notice if they used the FDL?
And I should have clarified more when I said traditional. I meant that the FDL is a classical and traditional symbol. Something that is not only "unique," and yes, it is unique to colelge sports, but also classy/traditional is pretty damn cool. Much better than a Tiger jumping over an LSU logo.

I'm with ya.

No disrespect to the people that suffered but...If I see one more Fleur De Leis of any kind I'm gonna puke.

Yea I get it NOLA, Louisiana, Katrina blah blah blah...MOVE ON..it was three years ago...how can we ever move forward if we keep flashing the eternal "feel sorry for me and my people" symbol...depressing...and not healthy

I like it. I don't think the only reason people have it is to say "feel sorry for me look where I'm from". I'm a saints fan too so I got that as my groom's cake to have something of both.
