Well, I'd say it's probably the result of:

1) Your traditional role as the dominant, or dare I say, FLAGSHIP, university in the state, so we're probably a little envious of that;

2) The fact that, in all our years of trying, we just can't seem to compete with your football program, especially in head to head matchups;

3) The really cool practice of changing your school's name every twenty years or so really makes us feel inferior, having kept the same name for so long that people everywhere instantly know who we are when they hear our name--keeping a little bit of mystery and obscurity about yourself is ALWAYS cool; and

4) We get so tired of seeing half our student body wearing ULL paraphernalia on our own campus that we usually taunt them about it and frequently have to write columns in our local and student newspapers bitching about what a pain in the arse it is that our crappy 2nd-rate football team has to share support with the Goliath you have in Lafayette even right on our own campus.

Other than that, I can't think of any reasons why we're so consumed with penis envy regarding your school.

Because you big scary Cajuns make us wittle bitty tigers pee our pants. Wahhhhhhh!
