They actually know another thing, the V-O-L-S song. They played that one a shitload in Atlanta 07 and I wanted to pound my head against the seat in front of me by the 1000th time they did that. Are they bringing their full band this weekend?

The reason we hate hearing it is because when we hear it that means that Tennessee did something good. What is so hard to understand?
Nah.....they pretty much play it all the damn time anyway.

The Tennessee band may actually play Rocky Top more than LSU runs the option.

I can actually dig some bluegrass every now and then and that version is not bad at all.
But yeah, as expressed in this thread already, they play the song a little too much during the course of a Vols game.

As a Vol fan, I want to apologize for people who come on here talking shite lol, it's not our place to do so....Second, Rocky Top is just our thing. It never gets old to a us lol, i guess that's the beauty of it. I can understand why people get tired of it though. I do have to say I like the Geaux Tigers thing you guys do...

it's a cool song, esp if you know the lyrics. however, to hear it a million times in one game gets really old. also, they play it after scores or good plays by ut and you begin to associate the song with ut making good plays.

No doubt!
And it has a place in college football lore.
But, as I'm sure you can understand, hearing that song over and over again when you're not a fan of UT...can get rather annoying.
That said - when I lived in Atlanta, and my buddies and I used to go to the old Buckhead Saloon, they used to play Rocky Top, at least once, every night.
Not sure why they did, since it was more of a GA Tech/UGA crown, but it was fun watching them squirm when the house band started playing it.

THAT'S RIGHT YOU DO

I think the guys calling the Tenn./ Fla. game made a comment about how many times they play it in a game. I think they counted 36.

You are obviously trying to appeal to the T.D. masses.
Why not talk a little smack?

Haha i used to live in Atlanta as well, when we were going to the SEC championship every year, back in the good old days, i'd always go. I loved rubbing it in Gawja fans faces, being I was the only UT fan on the block!

I thought Rocky Top was very cool ... until I went to an LSU-Tennessee game for the first time.
Holy crap ...
UT loses 5 yards ... ROCKY TOP, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME
UT muffs a punt ... ROCKY TOP, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME
UT holds LSU to 50 points ... ROCKY TOP, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME
... and it's so f'ing long! If they had a short version of it like our first down song, it would be fine.
... and the redneck sounding "ah-we" is much more irritating in person. ("good ole Rocky Top ... ah-we ... Rocky Top Tennessee")

Are you meaning " You'll ah-we be home sweet home to me"? But we both have our fair share of rednecks, don't go pointing fingers lol, some of those redneck cajuns down in tigerland sound like they put hot coals in their mouths.

No - the part where it's basically a yee-haw.

shite, they play it when the waterboys run on and off the field.
They play it when the sun goes down.

They play it when an angel gets their wings.

THEY PLAY IT!!!
The only thing worse is the Techno version
