How many different threads do I need to rip apart this lie in? 2012 we were a play away from beating Bama and a possible BCS berth.
Well in 2017 LSU was a missed field goal away from OT with Troy. Who knows what would have happened for LSU's season if not for "a play".

show me a link idiot showing the head coach is in charge of who is playing every play...
Show me one he isn't.
The head coach is responsible for every decision at the end of the day.
quote:
Does he decide who gets snaps at DT also? Are you really that dumb to say the DC and dline coach aren’t responsible for personnel? And you call other people clowns jees what a fricking tard
He absolutely has influence, and at season's end, if the wrong person was playing, the head coach will get the blame. It's why Miles gets shite (rightly so) for having Welter playing for 3 years ahead of obviously much better players.

We haven’t been a playoff contention program since 2011. If CLM was still our coach we wouldn’t be on that list. Don’t let being ranked for the first ever playoff poll foolyou our program hasn’t been great in 6 years.

Were you in a coma during the 2015 season?
Isn't that the season LSU got curb-stomped by Arkansas and Ole Miss. I don't think they would have made the playoffs even with a win at Bama.

Crawfishing bitch
you know good and well the head coach doesn’t track what players are playing every down
How about the Arkansas game we lost 17-0 when your hero said “LF ran all the plays we had for him in the game plan and they weren’t effective” he carried 5x
so you are admitting CLM was terrible? What kind of head coach only has 5 plays in the offense for his best player in the 11th game of the season? Either he was terrible or a liar...pick one

You act like this isn’t true for almost every NCAA coach. Talk about seeing things in a vacuum.
quote:
Second, your evaluation criteria are completely subjective and not based on any tangible results.
Yes. Of course. Only an idiot would fire a coach based on the results if all of the signs and indicators are pointing to future success.
quote:
You really sound like you’re looking for any reason you can find to prop up Orgeron no matter what he does.
Not at all. I'm saying that it's stupid to say 10 wins is expected. There are a ton of things that could make a 9 win season a good one. You don't fire a coach based on a season. You fire him based on a rational evaluation of where the program is going relative to where you want it to be.
Looking at Miami (neutral field), Auburn on the road, Alabama, and Georgia in a season in which you are breaking in a new, young, and inexperienced QB and expecting 10 wins is ridiculous. It would be a TREMENDOUS accomplishment. There are plenty of scenarios where we get 9 wins and should feel MUCH better about Orgeron than we do now.
quote:
His getting the job was predicated and sold on continuity, not some “rebuild” or “as long as it feels like he’s getting the team on the right track” standard that’s impossible to define.
You bottom line fans are funny to me. I suggest we do whats in the best interest of the program. And, that doesn't mean to blindly look at the record and say "less than 10 is not good enough, blow it up." You can argue with that if you want.
I was against the Orgeron hire and have said it many times. As we sit today, I'm not convinced he's capable of getting the team back to an elite level.
However, my concerns aren't going to be based on an arbitrary 10 win standard in a season with a very tough schedule. I want to see how recruiting goes next year. I want to see how the OC situation gets resolved. I want to see how the QB situation pans out.
By your logic, we could start slow but totally turn things around midseason, have an offense that is clicking on all cylinders at the end, look like a juggernaut heading into 2019, and be sitting on a top 5 recruiting class and you'll be bitching that we didn't get to 10 wins. It's completely illogical.

Yes it’s the season they say we were relevant bc we went 8-0 against a weak schedule and then lost 3 straight sec games...the last one 17-0 to Arkansas...we have different definitions of relevance. What a great season we got worse as the season progressed.

We were on basically every list like this when Miles was here.
Sure man sure. The guy who didn't even know what a play or game clock was for was on EVERY list to be in the BCS or playoffs.
quote:
now the narrative is that we should accept 9-3 seasons because the team "looked different"
It is? I don't think anyone is telling you what you should accept. Some people actually watch the games and keep up with the team. they realize the transfers coming in, the depth that is being built on the lines and saw over 30 true and redshirt freshmen play this past year.
I don't want to convince you to not be miserable. I would not want that at all. Good luck !!!

Yeah, way better than this past season where were out of everything by the end of September because of Troy.

They touched every region of the country and mostly big market schools.

LSU still had a ridiculously talent program
Why did LSU have to play so many freshmen? Injuries? They played over 30 freshmen with 8 true freshmen and 4 RS freshmen having to start. That's not "ridiculously talent".

the top Defensive coordinator on staff.
The guy that gave up 37 to Mississippi State and 24 to Troy.

I am sorry but what O walked into was a DREAM scenario for every first year coach
Not quite. That is why Jimbo and Hotlips turned LSU down. If it was a dream they would have been knocking on the door to come to LSU.

I thought LSU lost two games early. They only lost to Troy? Seems MS St hung 37 on LSU in an LSU loss. I may be mistaken.
Some of you guys have no idea what you are watching.
Aranda wasn't outschemed in that game.
LSU had no answer for the MSU running game. They dominated the line. Lawrence didn't play, Key was completely out of shape, Ed Alexander was hurt, Farrell was ejected, etc. They averaged 6 yards a carry...on 48 carries. Let that sink in.

The guy
These lists are about teams not individual coaches on the list. And if you are trying to downplay Miles' accomplishments at LSU just to prop up Orgeron who hasn't accomplished anything yet as head coach at LSU, I really question your motives and if you are actually an LSU fan.
It is definitely a fact that LSU under Miles made most teams to watch/BCS/Big 6 watch lists each preseason. Not sure why people are trying to revisionist history something like that

37 points to MS State. It is a FACT. The defense sucked.
What's funny is that you equate that with the defensive coordinator being the problem.

Do you have an “8-0 ranked in 1st cfb playoff poll” shirt?

No beef other than I think it is unacceptable to give up 37 points to MS State and 24 to Troy.
Did you think that was good?
