Jimbo is a fine coach. He has his issues who doesn't.
I'm more pleased that we lost a certain QB to the gators

Let’s just see where the 2 programs are in 4 yrs. Fisher has a National Championship on the wall... O has 2 wins over Auburn and 1 win over UGA.

It’s so stupid
All of these nerds shitting all over Jimbo fricking Fisher at 5-3 with losses to #2 Clemson, #1 Alabama, and an MSU team that they built up as some forgotten title contender LAST WEEK when last September all we heard was “MSU and Troy are good teams, O needs at least three years before we can judge!!!”

LSU just had their worst recruiting class since 2004 I believe (whatever Miles’ first year was). He also fired his OC and hired his TE coach who hasn’t been an OC since the 90’s. LSU’s current offense is a minor improvement over the Miles years. However, it continues to look like a struggle to throw the ball and their route trees are beyond elementary. They better have some new tricks drawn up for Saturday.

Jimbo will make the Aggies a good team, but they paid him to be Saban
No they didn’t.
They paid what they had to pay to get the guy they wanted from another powerhouse program.
Coaches salaries are escalating and will continue to.
They didn’t pay him to bring in #1 recruiting classes every year or go to the CFP every fricking year.
They’ll take a packed excited stadium and an SEC title and CFP every few years and be thrilled about it like any reasonable fanbase would be outside of Baton Rouge.
quote:
Sumlin had a decent W-L for the Aggies. It'll be fun seeing what happens when this 10 year 75 million doesn't amount to much more than what Sumlin did.

11-2
9-4
8-5
8-5
8-5
7-5
Sumlin was the actual epitome of the mediocrity that so many like to pretend that Miles was.
If Jimbo isn’t significantly better than 8-5 after a few years then it will be a failure for sure but imo he will have A&M closer to the 9-3/10-2 level very shortly, with a NY6 Bowl and maybe even an SEC title within three years.
He needs to get his QB and things will be much improved very quickly after that.

I don't think you understand how any of this works..
please explain as I am but a simple (minded) man
thanking you in advance
Here is a blurb regarding Jimbo's contract and why after 1 year(probably at least 5 years) aTm ain't cutting him loose.
quote:
Fisher was guaranteed about $40 million at Florida State through the duration of his contract (2024). Texas A&M topped that, offering Fisher a 10-year, $75 million contract...which will be fully guaranteed according to a report from ESPN. That means Fisher will receive every penny of his contract regardless of on-field performance.
WHoever thought that was a good idea for any coach...

There was no legit reason to believe Herman was the next Saban. There is absolutely no legit reason to give 10 years guaranteed (Jimbo) to anyone. I've been on board with our present staff from the start.
It was amazing to read all the unbiased and unfounded remarks during off season.
O was a failure
CSE was a wash up
McMahon was finished
Sullivan too old
Yet, all the while we were getting 5 star recruits on Offense and prime transfers. Glad so many of you woke up.
Beat Bama now!

I agree. Jimbo is a good coach. Is he 10 yr 75mil good? No. He really is in a position where he should be able to succeed quickly. He is at a rich program in a fertile recruiting state and given carte blanche to do what he wants.
Mike Elko was a great hire and the A&M D is already better than it has been in years.
Personally though, I want Jimbo and Aggie to crash and burn so I'm happy when they lose. Same goes for Herman. I think both played us in the hiring process. Regardless, when the Texas teams do poorly it helps LSU recruiting so any LSU fan that thinks straight should want them to do poorly.

Jimbo is a decent coach who had to get out of FSU because it was a program on it’s way down, and who’s team the last year flat out gave up on him. Jimbo And Sexton pulled the deal of the century with the Aggies, and we got better coach for 1/2 the price. We will kick their asses again and again for the foreseeable future.

All these nerds
Hey. Don’t call me a nerd, Numb Nuts. Be a fricking man and call me a dumbass. I will judge Jimbo right now and for a few reasons. It’s certainly not unheard of to point a finger in his direction for what has occurred at FSU the last 2 years. You could also mention that if not for Jamies (a player with questionable character at the very least) Jimbo would not have that “championship on the wall”. I also do not care for the way he played Footsie with LSU. So, frick that guy. I say he was a good OC. But the responsibility of HC, he has not worn that responsibility well. He is a deeply flawed individual. And he has yet to realize that and go to work on correcting the flaws that will eventually bring him down as Aggie HC. And finally, I would be remiss if I failed to mention the fact that he is currently overseeing the largest contingency of male on male buttsex proliferators in the history of Mankind.

Fisher is a good coach but his teams are notoriously soft. Especially of late.
Give him a QB like Manuel or Winston and he's great though.

Finally a smart post on this stupid thread. He inherited a really bad defense and Sumlin recruits on offense. Come back in a few years when he’s competing with Texas and Oklahoma for recruits.

All the Ed O haters in this thread have turned into clairvoyants and are now predicting future failure for Ed because this season's results just don't fit their narrative and they've had to re-spin their hatred towards him.

I didn't want him either. I still think Herman was our best choice. Flame away. Texas will be very good in a couple years. Jimbo is another Les Miles. I am not happy with Zero because he is a low morals man. I hope I am wrong but I don't see him breaking the 8-10 win season mark anytime at LSU or anywhere else. Just my opinion.

Yeah, Tom Herman is a bad coach because Texas lost last night and he acted like a douche at the end. Never mind Texas was ranked No. 6 going into last night. By your logic, Nick Saban is a bad coach because he lost to UAB in 2000 and ULM in 2007.
Herman will end up being pretty good at Texas.

By year 3 Fisher fatigue will have set in but they'll still have too big a buyout so they'll end up sucking goat arse for a few more years while the Aggie grits their teeth. It's going to be a thing of beauty.
What exactly are you basing this on? Fisher fatigue?
