close call but thank god for the stupid Aggies and their $75 million

After a shitty final season at Florida St and leaving that program in shambles what is going to happen to aTm if they finish out the season with losses to LSU and Auburn combined with a bowl loss (7-6), will they cut the cord on the Fisher experiment or hang on and let him continue aTm spiral to the bottom of the SEC?

are they the laughing stock of the country paying $75 mill for this clown? Even makes coach kissie face look like a decent hire if that is even possible. Thank God we wound up with Coach O.

Never wanted him. He got a once in a lifetime college quarterback. Other than that he didn’t do shite. I personally wanted to just promote Aranda but O is making me happy

I still think Jimbo with Aranda would have been dope, but it's unlikely we can afford Aranda with Jimbo.

I'll take what we have for sure.

we would have been fine with Aranda as HC just as long as we didn't loose Orgeron

If I was an Aggie and I looked at Florida state I'd be nervous as hell.

I think Orgeron would’ve bolted. He made his own football Bible for that interview. He might’ve killed Alleva he didn’t get hired

Giving him a 10 year contract was possibly the worst thing they could have done. They will get stuck In a rut, realize it in year 3 and be forced to pay a massive buyout, and redo it. Complete idiots.

I just want to win. I don't give a shite who the head coach is as long as we win. The jury is still out on Jimbo. You can't judge a coach in his first year. Kirby had a very lackluster year his first year in Georgia, but he recruited well. Which is what Jimbo is doing.

Yes, the Florida State shite show would concern me if you're aTm, though. But you can't throw a final judgement on it yet.

I like how things turned out for us because we're winning. If I could take Jimbo right now instead of what we have, I would not.

Because I think all of the pro reasons O was hired in the first place have come to fruition.

He kept recruiting going. We kept Aranda. The players love him.

He's made some adjustments, improved the train, and kept it rolling. He's done everything he promised IMO. I'll take that over risking what may have happened with Jimbo. Plus all the money it would cost.

As long as that continues, he'll have our support. I hope that's true for all the fans.

It's his first year - A&M isn't going to pay a 60-something million dollar buyout. He's not going anywhere. He also doesn't have "his players" in there yet. Typically, you give a coach 3 years (a recruiting overhaul) to prove himself. When he gets his quarterback, they'll be decent.

By year 3 Fisher fatigue will have set in but they'll still have too big a buyout so they'll end up sucking goat arse for a few more years while the Aggie grits their teeth. It's going to be a thing of beauty.

It’s his first year. He has to change the culture and recruit his people This thread is stupid Revisit it in 3 years or so. Way to early to call him a bust at A&M

I disagree. Fisher has already improved the aggies defense and by a lot. he also is recruiting very well. I would have loved to have him (on a 5 year deal) for about 7 mil/year. to GUARANTEE him 75 million shows you how desperate the aggies are. I think the aggies will become a factor in the SEC west going forward and they also will cut into our recruiting the tejas (as will Herman).

that being said, the cost to hire a "proven" championship HC is ridiculous and it does not guarantee a winner. the aggies buy out clauses for their HC's is stupid. they paid Sumlin a lump sum 10 mil. with no offset and then doubled down on stupid with guaranteeing Fisher the 75 mil.

imo, the aggies, who are damn lucky to share in huge oil revenues every year (only they and tejas get them) are their own worse enemy money wise. they brag so much that they have to "feed" their self concept even if it is stupid as shite.

Jimbo will make the Aggies a good team, but they paid him to be Saban. Jimbo is not even close to being in the same ballpark as Nick. Sumlin had a decent W-L for the Aggies. It'll be fun seeing what happens when this 10 year 75 million doesn't amount to much more than what Sumlin did.

LSU coaching search, aka all the names that are way better than our #3 in the nation "shrimp boat captain"

Jimbo--lost and was rewarded with 10 million for losing his team last season
Tom Herman--lost, and embarrassingly lost his shite
Larry Fedora--lol
