Here's how the Bama offense has done in each of its 5 SEC games:

1) 355 yards vs. Texas A&M
2) 496 yards vs. Arkansas
3) 604 yards vs. Tennessee
4) 613 yards vs. Ole Miss
5) 677 yards vs. Vanderbilt

Here's the good news: LSU has a combined 6 common opponents with the 5 teams above, and our defense allowed fewer yards in all 6 cases.

-Texas A&M allowed 371 to Florida, we allowed 302
-Arkansas allowed 629 to Auburn, we allowed 354
-Tennessee allowed 380 to Florida, we allowed 302
-Ole Miss allowed 561 to Auburn, we allowed 354
-Vanderbilt allowed 603 to Ole Miss, we allowed 347
-Vanderbilt allowed 467 to Florida, we allowed 302

Taking an objective look at these numbers, we have played better defense than any of these 5 teams, and A&M is probably the closest to us. It would not be a statistical outlier if we were to keep them in the low 300's (Bama had 323 against us last year). I think that would be a realistic goal, although duplicating what FSU's defense did (held Bama to 269 yards) would really give us a chance to pull off the upset, depending on how the offense does.

You do realize he plays second and third stringers and still puts up these stats right?

This is a terrible matchup for us. They have a dual threat QB, deep Oline, plethora of power backs and a ton of speedy wideouts. They are literally built to beat us. My biggest concern is we can’t move the ball on offense and Bama wears us down early, exposing our lack of depth at DT and MLB.

With that said, there’s a reason they play the games....

I'm not going to buy into anything when it comes to LSU/Bama, until LSU proves that they can beat Bama again.

I'm tired of getting my hopes up and then my heart broken every year in November. It's easier to accept that N$ has molded Alabama to beat LSU, and LSU is going to lose no matter how hard they play.

I hate that it's that way for me, but it is. I'll expect defeat and then hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

I trust in the defense, I don't think we have a performance like we did last season but I don't think they are running up and down the field on us. The offense however, concerns me.

bama's wide outs haven't put up big numbers. Only two have double digit receptions and only one has over a dozen.

I like our DBs matchup against them.

SPOT ON. We have to get off the field on 3d down. We can't let them pound us all game or by the 2d half it will be OVER. Interested to see what D.A. comes up with to negate the run of Hurts. We had the right personnel last season, but we still got worn down as the OFF could not sustain any drives.
Front 7 on D and the OL will need their best game of the year for us to have any chance.

our offense has to hold onto the ball and keep the defense off the field.

A win for us would would be getting through the game without Bama having to put there freshmen in... if we keep it close enough to where the starters play all game i feel like we have done something someone else hasnt other than Florida State

I have no doubt our defense could hold them to under 300 yards and less than 14 points, but only IF our offense can produce sustained drives. A big IF.

Each 3 and out for our offense is a stab to the torso. Too many and we won’t survive the battle.
