Beginning this fall, fans will have the option of purchasing premium tailgating packages through Dallas-based Blockparty, which the university has selected as its official tailgate partner. While a number of companies have offered tailgate packages for games for years, this marks the first time LSU has officially partnered with a company. LSU officials decline to discuss financial terms of the deal with Blockparty—which is also the official tailgating partner of at least 10 other colleges and professional sports teams, including UCLA, Missouri and the Milwaukee Brewers. For fans, Blockparty’s packages range from $600 to $1,800, depending on tent size and opponent, with season packages available from $3,900 to $8,175.

The future of tailgating looks awesome... I give it about 5 more years until Joe makes us buy a permit to tailgate. Hopefully he is gone sooner than later.

So LSU is going to be just like these schools/teams in that they also offer this service:

Cal
Memphis
SMU
Missouri
Temple
UCLA
San Diego State
North Texas
Milwaukee Brewers

But a permit AND a package from the approved tailgate provider.

College sports were better 15-20 years ago.

They'll definitley be some people that use this service for the big games but no way they sell this shite out for SLU, La Tech and Rice.

Here are their options:

Campus used to be site to behold before they started the gameday parking fee. Now, everything from Highland in towards the stadium is a shell of it's former self.

This is going to start with the premium tailgating areas around the stadium and in 5 years, you are going to have to pay this company to tailgate anywhere on the campus. Book it. LSU cant not make money off of their fans.

It is a joke. The ONLY people I can see using something like this is those who come in for just one game and don't have the equipment or the means to tailgate (like a group who have never been to a game in Tiger Stadium... a bachelor party, etc. that just want a fun road trip)

No, this is starting in the newly created front lawn of the new Patrick F. Taylor Hall. Absolutely zero parking there so people will either have to pay to park, which is limited, or park a good bit away and hike their shite there. You still have to bring drinks and food. I get why other schools have this shite but not LSU.

I can see a company doing it for a big game. But I don't see the average middle class LSU fan being able to afford to this, but they are already trying to price them out anyway. Stadium is going to be full of sales reps and vendors Coca-Cola and Cox before too long.

He already made us buy a permit to park on campus on game days and is now forcing organizations to get permits to tailgate on the parade grounds. This stuff is getting ridiculous. LSU's gameday experience has been boiled alive like a frog in a pot of room temperature water warmed slowly on the stove so it doesn't jump out until it's too late.

This is so weak. I've seen this before at other schools and it looks so corporate and bland. They'll probably get mad if you play music.

Don't go where? There are 80-100K people on campus most gamedays and this administration has essentially cut off over 1/2 of the tailgating area.
