This is a good move. I used to cut through there while running all the time to stay by the lake.

Yeah, I read in the reveille of plans to add a water fixture to the middle of the quad and just an entire project dedicated to the beautification of the quad, even though it's already very nice

the quad needs some serious attention if you ask me...

New CEBA: times pi*R squared Is that an aquarium? It certainly doesn't blend in with the current architectural style of the rest of the campus. What were those egg heads thinking?

the proposed CEBA renovation is the tits. It doesn't need to blend with the rest of the damn campus, it's so disconnected from the rest that it won't matter anyway. It looks cutting edge

Should be finished up, but I haven't been that way.

Went through this past weekend. It's basically done and in use. Still needed to do a little striping. Probably completely done by now.

I'm about 99% sure they are replacing the painted cross walks with the paver-style cross walks.

Yeah, I went through those cones for the first time last week. I was turning right from Broussard going towards North Stadium Drive and a vehicle was coming the other way through the cones. I flipped my shite thinking we were going to collide, scared me shitless.

From the pictures it looks like they are putting the gymnasts in Mike's habitat. It will make them faster and more agile or dead...

It's part of Easy Streets II. Here is the full email sent out by LSU 4 weeks ago:

quote:

Over the next six (6) weeks, beginning Friday July 19, prep work will begin and on Monday July 22, full construction on Phase 1 of Easy Streets II will take place on Dalrymple Drive from Infirmary Road to Cypress Drive. This phase will introduce traffic calming, angled parking, sharrow bike lanes (A sharrow is the short-form for “shared roadway bicycle marking.” This pavement marking includes a bicycle symbol and two white chevrons), and new crosswalks. During the construction, parking in this area will be closed to B Plan parkers. B Plan parkers are encouraged to use other areas of the campus for their parking needs. Traffic will be allowed, but will be limited to one lane with flagmen crews working the areas under construction.

Construction, in Phase 1, will also include the elimination of parking on Tower Drive from South Stadium Drive, north, to the entrance of the Coates Hall parking lot. With the removal of these parking spaces, a new pedestrian corridor will be created to allow for safer passage by pedestrians and provide additional bicycle access. However, re-locating of B Plan parkers on Tower Drive will not occur at this time. B Plan parkers that park on Tower Drive from South Stadium to the entrance of the Coates Hall parking lot will be notified as soon as possible as to when they will need to re-locate to other parking.

Phase 2 of Easy Streets II will be completed next summer and will address South Campus Drive, Fieldhouse Drive, and South Stadium Drive.

Also worth noting, most of the Hart lot (next to Kirby Smith) is now closed and construction has started on LSU's next residence hall.

It's about time...originally there was supposed to be another dorm next to Kirby-Smith named for some other Comfederate general...now, tear down K-S and renovate Hatcher, hodges, and Johnson...I think it's be possible to add some floors as well

Yeah that lot is a best kept secret for many on-campus events. Though I believe they're adding parking lots across Aster from the Hart lot, FWIW.

I swear I could show up for a prime time SEC matchup at noon and find a place in that lot.

Is that not a big drainage ditch across Aster and then a playground/elementary school?

Right next to that drainage ditch, closer to Highland, there are empty grass lots. IIRC, they were going to turn them into parking.
