boards include the top overseas talent usually the best Euroleauge guys, but the players i am reffering to are the ones nobody has ever herd of even some NBA teams, happens more and more, not on any board and will more than likely never play in the NBA.

He won't because he probably won't come close to getting the same minutes. But he should be in the same ballpark in terms of minutes played. Which could be huge for us in terms of defense and getting stops.

How many of Odo's rebounds were offensive and how many defensive? On a poor shooting team you get a chance at a lot more offensive rebounds. Let's hope we shoot well next year and don't need a lot of offensive rebounds.
How tall and talented were the players that he got those rebounds against? That makes a huge difference. Statistics are only as good as the players they are garnered against.
I will guarantee you right now that even if Odo starts and plays 30 or more minutes a game, he won't average double figure rebounds. I am more anxious to see how good a defensive player he is. That is where we have really sucked at times this year, on the interior defense.
I don't know where this debate went from we have "everyone" coming back and the fabulous freshmen to Carmouche and Del Pierro might as well not have been on the team. Yes they can be replaced but I'm not the kind of guy to forget what they did for us this year.

He doesn't have any eligibility left.
Johnny Jones said he is trying to get another year for him. He has only played 2 years and been on the team for those 2 years.

So why does Miami have two 6th year seniors playing on their team this year? How did Reggie Love play for Duke in 05? Just curious, seeing as you are saying it is impossible for someone to play after they have been in college for 5 years. Hell, on our football team this was Josh D's sixth year.

I think we win more then 12 games in the SEC, make the NCAA tourney, and compete with UF and UK for the SEC title.

You never know what a bunch of true freshman will do. UK might do the same thing they did this year. As for us, I'm not going to rule out we see the top 10 next season at some point but I doubt it as well. I do think we will get in the top 25 and winning 12 games or more in the SEC is pretty realistic considering we play 18 now. Actually competing well with UF and UK IMO is also going to happen.

Agreed! In today's college game, guard play dictates so much. LSU should return a 3 year starter at the point. Look at Kentucky and UNC this year and you see two teams with Mcdonald AA up and down the roster. They are not dominant at the guard position and that makes them very beatable. In November, Butler destroyed UNC (up 30 for a good portion of the game) with excellent program players who are not one and done types.
Coach Cal has been running one and done teams for years. He caught lightning in a bottle one time. LSU is not there yet, but they are building a program with stars as well as role players. We will never out recruit Calipari at UK, but there are different ways to skin a cat.

LSU basketball 2014 = Ole Miss football 2013, coming off a surprising winning season and having signed a good recruiting class. Both teams' chances of competing for the SEC title are about the same, which is practically nil.
