Skip: I once got arrested for trying to smuggle books into Starkville. Skip to Doug Thompson: on a trip to the mound when Thompson was getting pounded early & the indians were running wild on the bases: "DT: Skip, I feel great & have a lot of energy left, don't pull me. Skip: Great. turn around & look at your outfielders, they're exhausted." Skip on a trip to the mound with another Tiger pitching & getting hammered: "I'm not pulling your fricking arse. You got us into this fricking mess, you get us out". Turned & walked back to the dugout.

I am part of the reason why LSU has the best fans in the world. I don't get paid and I never ask for anything. I look forward to putting these things together even if only two people read them.

Those Skip quotes are priceless. He was the needling nemesis to Miss St in the same way that Spurrier was the needling nemesis to TN when FL always beat them.

I love that type of coach trash talk.

For putting together a few stats and quotes?

Calm down on the self-worth over there, chief

Cause I am the only person on TD that thinks they are entitled to a little self worth. GTFO then.

I always enjoy people posting about how terrible the OP is but they themseleves never bring anything useful to the table.

Thanks

Having gone to LSU for 2 years and then transfereing and graduating Mississippis State, all the quotes about Starkville ring so true. But its always what you make of a place your at and I had a blast in starkvegas.

Growing up going to all LSU home games from 1990 to 2000, baseball is by fare my favorite at LSU. The one Skip quote I remember growning up from one of his Starkvegas pressers was.... He asked the reporters "Who is the richest person in Starkville?.... The tooth fairy.

Skip, speaking bout LSU fans in Omaha: "If they gave a gold medal for lobby sitting, LSU fans would win it every year." But one of my favorite stories bout Skip is when he was an assistant at Thug U & he had his team pull the fake overthrow to first base during a college world series game. First baseman jumped, pitcher screamed "Oh, shite", dugout yelled, bullpin pitchers jumped out the way...and as the baserunner took off for 2nd, the pitcher calmly threw him out.

After the summer, I had it narrowed down to LSU, Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Virginia. I visited all of them – except Vanderbilt – because once I went to LSU, I committed right away because I loved it." - Anthony Ranaudo

Used to love to watch Ranaudo play! Mahtook too! Two of my all time favorite. Quite a few players on this years team will be added to the list!!!
