Pitching sucked? Cmon. Pitching wasnt dominant but good enough
So you think Gausman was dominate last night? His pitch count was 123 one week before last night! To many pitches IMHO, and it showed. I agree, no one can hit! But Mainieri kept the batting coach.

Absolutely. Better than good enough, IMO.

Actually, he specifically said it wasn't dominant.

But, it has been waaaay past good enough.

So you think Gausman was good enough last night? I think following a 123 pitch count one week earlier, showed.

bbap....i'm pushing the panic button. This is it...I have serious trouble believing we are a tourney team.

I thought the pitching may be able to carry the team, but this team just can't hit when necessary. Long and disappointing season. I figured when the SEC rolled around it would be a slow start, but it may be worse than I thought.

Another disappointing fricking loss. I pretty much knew once SEC started that we wouldn't be able to hit the fricking ball. I was just hoping it would turn around. I never said this before but I think it's time for a change. FIRE MAINIERI

So Broham, you're in the " Help Mainieri Pack!" crowd?

Realistically could recover but haven't seen anything that says this team will be scoring runs when needed yet.

He was absolutely good enough. He gave up 2 runs in 5 innings and left with the game tied.

It wasn't one of his better outings. But, to be pointing at pitching right now as a major part of our problems is frankly dumb.

No one is going to be fired this early in the season, or should be. New hitting coach, ain't gonna do any good. If the dude's at the plate can't hit a curveball, then you need to find someone that can.
That means recruiting, and maybe a new coach can help there, but it won't help this year...

moneyg, I never said that pitching was the problem. I've pointed out the lack of hitting for 2 years now. But when a staff ask a young man to throw 123 pitches in a game, you'll start seeing a drop off. JMHO

Actually, I think this is the worst team in the SEC. Bama will even win the series in Tuscaloosa

Is there a way to differentiate between baseball prognosticators and basketball prognosticators?

The only one that has any sense is the one who said he thought we'd start out slow. Just looking at there post count you can tell they are shite starters. Not saying mine is much higher.

Yeah, and I can't really talk - I don't know enough about the details of baseball to even be constructively critical. I am probably optimistic to a fault, though.
