I wouldn't be surprised if you said this during pre-conference this year.

Lineup looks solid. Not sure if Mathis or Hughes will ever come around, but other than that looks pretty good. Also don’t know much about Doughty.

Why would you think that?

Didn't say you were, I agreed with you but you have to admit...this line up has one , maybe 2 proven hitters(Cabrera, maybe gia) and a bunch of untested new players..just don't think with a team this young(most of the players who play this year that will return aren't producing at all and yes they are young but)i suspect beloso may improve but the rest have proving to do, that in the sec conference this team will have not a winning record...

draft with the high school recruits will be the key as well
Cade Doughty will contend at 3B or SS
Would be nice to get Rece Hinds as well
Travinski coming in at C could upgrade that spot
Hampton could start in OF but it will be tough if he misses all of fall on football team
Maybe Garza can go play summer ball and find his swing because they could use him in the lineup for his bat - hard to believe the power he showed at JC level but hasn't come close to hitting a homerun in a LSU uniform

How good is Doughty? I don’t know much about him. It’s also going to be very tough to get Reece Hinds on campus. Isn’t he a projected first round pick? If he came he would start day 1 I’m assuming. I think the lineup can be really good, we can upgrade at Catcher and Shortstop.

Cade Doughty is very good, I think he slides in at third unless he falls apart when he gets to campus.

With all the hitting woes, why hasn't pm given doughty a chance to hit then?

Cabrera, Willis, Gio, Dugas, and Beloso are a pretty damn good start. We always have a freshmen or two come in and make an immediate impact.
And with a weekend rotation including Marceaux, Henry, Hill, Walker, our pitching will be strong.

I don't think we get Hinds to campus. I think him, Espino, Lewis, Hampton, and Phillips are all high draft risks.
Travinski, Torres, Doughty, Cairo, Wilhite, and Milazzo are draft risks as well to varying degrees.
IF Collier Cranford will probably redshirt as he just had tommy john surgery.
I don't know what to expect on Farmer Abendroth or Brandon Kaminer as it relates to the draft.
Tom Biggs, Jacob Hasty, Mitchell Sanford, and Wes Toups aren't draft risks, IMO.
Toups, Sanford, and Travinski are scheduled for summer leagues so far. Cranford was. I imagine a couple others will find their way onto summer rosters as more teams announce rosters. Some of the typical destinations either haven't announced yet or don't have an LSU player yet.
