No, he was not. I think he did receive a PM though... lots of us did. It mostly had to do with the gmt emoticon... "post whoring" as Fred called it. If he's gone, I hope he returns by the weekend. He talked like he was still out of town but would be moving back mid-season. His BPB is on point and it's a tough job.

BPB is most definitely a tough job. Man I cant wait for the season to start! Best threads of the year without a doubt are Baseball in game threads!!!

I can't do BPB on opening weekend I'll be in the box. Maybe after though, I doubt I can do it every night though.

I try to get involved with those threads but I can't take the constant negativity and quitter attitudes when we trail in a game, or even just blow a scoring chance.

Hardly anyone can do BPB for every game, with how many we play. I'm fine with doing BPB this weekend, since I live too far away to make any home games.
ETA: Rabbit mentioned he was moving, and needs a replacement since he can't do a lot of games while that's going on. I'm okay with being the new BPB guy, but I'll still need some help, of course.

I might be able to do a bit of bpb fill in for you cheer. Like take a couple of innings if you need a break or something every now and then.

Thanks TN84, we'll see how it goes. I was able to do a little bit last year filling in for Rabbit, and that helped a lot.

championship countdown continues
today 1996
1996 is the greatest moment in college baseball history and maybe in LSU sports history. This year LSU would play powerhouse Miami who won two titles in the 80s and made it to Omaha 15 out of 22 times coming into that year.
This game was very high scoring.
Miami Strikes first with a bases loaded single 2-0
Morris the team leader had a big play in the 3rd saving a run keeping it 2-0
LSU would respond with a run but a huge baserunning mistake prevented more runs this inning. Sac Fly would tie it. 2-2 Eddie Furness would hit a single putting us 3-2. Again it could have been 4 or more runs that inning.
Miami would score two runs on a controversial play, Cooley makes a diving catch but it came out so he says that he didn’t make the catch, but he had it all the way to the ground. 4-3 Miami.
Tigers made many mistakes in this game, top of the 6th 2 mental mistakes load the bases Miami goes up 7-3.
LSU would start to come back, Furness drove in Dunn to make it 7-5, a sac fly would make it 7-6. Dunn would would drive in Morris to make it 7-7. This was the bottom of the 8th inning.
In the crazy 9th Miami scores on a RBI single goes up 8-7.
Morrison would try to close it for Miami, but LSU would start off with a double from Wilson. Almost got thrown out at 2nd base. Morrison would would get two outs, the second one with a beautiful curveball on Lanier.
Than Morris would step into history, first pitch Morrison hangs a curve ball and morris makes him pay. He blasts it to right field and it just clears the fence. Tigers win 9-8.
This is Skip’s third title in 6 years. First come back win in the title game. In the 90s LSU has won 3 titles in 5 appearances.
