OK, that explains it. Looking through past schedules, it looks like the extra week was added in 2010.

I wish they'd push the start date to the first week of march. I know that wouldnt be popular around here though.

Then they'd have to shorten the season. No way the NCAA lets the CWS go into July. Too many people against that idea.

There's just too much opposition to it. It's been floated as an idea in the past and been shot down pretty quickly. The summer leagues would be severely impacted. And MLB would be totally against it since the draft is still in early June.

The summer leagues....meh, it affects a few players, but they still are playing baseball regardless. The mlb needs to suck it up and have that draft in august
