I don't believe that much seperates this LSU team from Ole Miss and A&M. I think they will be in the thick of things in the west.
There are at least two teams in the east better than LSU at this point.

A&M is away, but they're overrated.
So you can't read LSU off of our early season schedule but you can read a team that's #3 in the nation?

I called them overrated before the season started.

Are you serious, clark?

I hope it doesn't come down to coaching and taking pitchers out at the right time.

Which makes your claim even more bizarre

No. It just means I have to stick to that statement until they prove me wrong just like the pollsters who are afraid to make too many changes until 5 or 6 weeks into the season.

I just think it's funny how people are so fast to call teams overrated or underrated when you really have no idea. A&M returns a lot of guys from a very good team so it doesn't make sense.

My point was literally that we don't know yet. I threw in that A&M is overrated because I've been saying that since preseason. Why? Because frick Aggie that's why!

I don't care how stories a program is, if this team makes it to a super regional with the amount of turnover it had in the offseason, that's a hell of an accomplishment

Sir, I concur.

I tend to agree with this. You dont just replace 8/9 guys in the field and go to a CWS like that generally. Even if we went 2 & BBQ in the CWS the seaosn should be considered a massive success considering who we would be returning (probably every starter minus Poche, Valek & Fraley).

Yeah, I'd be happy with a super regional this year, and would consider it a great season if we made a run to Omaha, considering everyone we lost. Just be ready for the Rant to go nuts as soon as we get knocked out, though, especially by people who don't watch until May.

Yea I stay away from game threads once post season starts. Right now the game threads aren't that bad and you can have a legitimate discussion even between two people who disagree. Post season gets here they are unbearable with people that really don't know much about baseball.

I went into this season with really low expectations and treating it as a rebuilding year. That being said, we are better than I expected. I thought we'd have trouble generating runs, but this team swings the bat pretty well throughout the line-up. Concerns mirror last year and are related to pitching staff. Caleb Gilbert looks like the next star on the mound, but mid-inning/veteran guys like Bain and Bugg have been totally unreliable.
I see us around .500 in the SEC, which isn't that far from the top considering 20-10 can usually win the league. Auburn is a dumpster fire so that's nice road series to pick up some wins, but we'll likely take 2 of 6 at home vs. Vandy and Florida.
I think hosting a Regional, which is basically like finishing in top 16, would be a successful season for this team. Next year is the next Omaha run. Next year's recruiting class includes some big guys that throw heat and could get us there with seasoned bats returning from this season.
Nailed it.
Although I think we do better than .500 in league play

If Lange can get back to being Lange I can see this team getting to 18-20 wins.

Of course we won't cross home plate

Getting our stool pushed in by a Pitcher with an 87mph fastball isn't a good start to SEC play.
Posted on 3/19/16 at 4:29 pm to Carville
Our best pitcher goes against the weakest hitting team in the SEC in game one of SEC play. T8 and we are behind 4-0. This is not good.
Unfortunately, PM scheduled so poorly in pre-SEC play, our weaknesses have been masked by the poor competition we've played.

I will be happy with hosting a regional. Anything above that is gravy.
