Signing for 100,000 is crazy when college will be free for you.
so 100k plus free college is a pretty sweet deal for a guy who did not expect this at all

Most baseball players only get 1/4 of a scholly and they are on the hook for the rest.

25% or nothing seems to be what many have gotten. Baseball players pay to go to school at LSU. That tells you how much they love the game, the program, and what LSU is. I know a few freshmen that took their name out of the draft when they were called by advisors after the 10th round. 100K was not worth skipping the LSU Baseball experience to them. The advisors say that a 4 year college program is valued at 100K and especially when signed to a power program in the SEC.

And you can possibly end up a first rounder. Or 5th rounder, just ask Nola. He was drafted out of HS in the 48th but played four years and went in the 5th.
