Were you ever stationed in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan?
When I worked there the Hyatt where I was staying was the R & R venue for the military guys from the air base near the city. They were the bombing and supply guys for Afghanistan at the time.
I had a couple of good evenings with them. They weren't allowed to drink alcohol because they could be called back to base for duty at any time, but I never let them buy their own meals or soft drinks.
Great group of guys (and a couple of gals).

Never been there. My last deployment was to Romania. We would travel around Eastern Europe in small teams to train all their shitty militaries.

I did a week in Moldova. Had a great time there as well.

The PAC then had a group of 4 teams post conf. winning % of .500+ while the ACC had 5 in this range. You must obviously think that the ACC is a better conference from top to bottom and posting a .500 winning % in the ACC is more meaningful than a .500 record in the PAC. Again, this shows, in my opinion, unfounded love for the ACC.
I'm no PAC homer. I'm no west coast homer. I can give the SEC props and admit they (along with the PAC) are the dominant force in college baseball. The ACC is not even in the same discussion, yet they get treated as if they are equals to the SEC and 100% better than the PAC. Is it wishful media thinking? The traditional East coast bias? The lure of ACC football money? What?

Slovenia is great. Ukraine, Georgia, Bulgaria, and Eastern Romania are old school soviet bloc. Western Romania is very European but still cheap. Slovenia was a bit more expensive.

Every year they put them on a pedestal, and every year a few ACC teams post great w-l records with easy schedules. Then comes the post season and decent teams every week, and they can't cut it. There is no reason to believe this year would be different. Yet they're starting it off with a "This is The Year!!!!11!!" banner. It's like they enjoy the embarrassment of being wrong.

Not as much as I should be. I took a boat there and then a truck out into the middle of nowhere to train for about 10 days then straight back to the boat. No time off.

It's because their office is based in NC. But, if you listen to their podcast, they don't deny that they are ACC homers, which makes it a little easier to stand. At least they know and are honest about it.
