Yeah I think we will shut down early too, but since I'm one of the few who live on the south shore, I at least have to show up.

Platoon the Catcher position with Moore, Chinea, and Scivique. Whoever isn't catching will play 1st. Will lose some defensively and gain offensively at that position.
Hale will get the first chance to start at 2nd. CPM wouldn't be surprised if KR or DZ worked their way into a starting role.
Domangue will get first shot at closer. CPM hoping Broussard can recover fully and be a major contributor.

Ok. I am no speed typer but I tried to keep up as best I could. Some of the dialog is missing but you get the gist....
Question: It's seemed pretty clear it was Mason katz's and Raph Rhymes' team, has that carried over to Bregman this year?
Coach: It is easy to say that those guys were very important for our team, but we had many leaders last year, and every good team has many different leaders. It's obvious that Alex Bregman is the "best player" on our team. He's a consensus all American. But, I'm really confident in guys like Sean McMullen, Christian Ibarra, and Mark Laird (etc. etc.)
Q: Bullpen....
Coach: It's the biggest concern we have because of the loss of guys to graduation and pro signing. I see Jared Poche and Kyle Bouman battling for starting roles. (...praising Cotton last year closing...) I'm going to give the first shot at closing to Brady Domangue. We just haven't seen enough him to say for certain that he will be there all season. Guys like Joe Broussard or Kurt McCune will be waiting in the wings. We're starting to get an idea of guys that we can count on and guys who have an out pitch. I'm going to reserve announcing those guys names and let them play into their roles.
Q: Joe Broussard coming off of injury?
Coach: Joe Broussard has probably has the 2nd best stuff on the team behind Aaron Nola. McCune right behind him in stuff with velocity up to 90-91. (praised Joe a lot for coming back off of injury and is expecting him to have a great season)
Q: Replacing Ty Ross
Coach: Outside of the bullpen that is the biggest concern. Fans will have to adjust how they view he position. I don't think we are going to catch just one player every day. Moore a notch above Chinea and Chinea a notch above Scivicque. All 3 have adequate defensive ability, but all 3 hit better than Ross.
Q: All fall we have seen Danny Zardon and Kramer Robertson playing second and then I show up for practice today and see Connor Hale playing second? Did you have a change of heart?
Coach: That's basically what happened. Hale was player of the year in his conference at JUCO and was expected to replace Ibarra. Obviously we were fortunate to have Christian come back for his senior season. I think the world of both Zardon and Robertson but it is a lot to thrust a freshman into that starting role in the SEC. I saw some chinks in the armor of both of those kids at the end of fall practice. Perhaps whoever is not catching might be a better option at first than putting one of those young kids at second base. I would not be surprised if at some point Zardon or Robertson come in later and being a spark plug for are our team down the line.
Q: What about the polls - BA #9, PG #12
Coach: Collegiate came out in December and we were number #3 so that is my favorite poll at the moment (laughs). A lot of coaches I'm not like that. I am a fan of college baseball and the polls get the fans talking. I think it is a good thing for our program to be ranked high early. What is the alternative, to not be ranked high? Why not be ranked high? I don't think it adds any pressure to our team. I gives us a chance to go out and prove that we belong.
Q: about Aaron Nola...
Coach: It's hard to think that he could be any better than last year He had a near perfect season. But, I think he is improved, older, stronger, more experienced, curveball is tighter, change up is more deceptive. I can't promise you he will go undefeated. When you play in the SEC every Friday you are going up against a first round draft pick. So I can't promise he will win ever game, but I love giving the ball to that kid as much as any kid I have ever coached. A lot of people ask me about the draft and I think that is the last thing on his mind. His brother has a national championship ring and I'm sure he wants one..... (missed the rest)
Q: Alex Box Renovations?
Coach: All of foul territory is now artificial turf, and it looks very nice. (blah blah about the turf) I've got some ideas for things down the road, and hopefully each year we can add some things.
