Who are you penciling in at #2 with Nola? I don't know much about the freshman arms coming in I just knew that last year he was showing out before the injury.

Opening weekend probably this: Nola, Glenn, Poche

Mainieri says Glenn will have to earn his spot back again (after what went down for regionals "violating team rules") so we will see. He is high on Bouman too and obviously Poche. Many of us, including myself think Poche will be starting Saturdays by SEC play.

Yeah this is what I want. Sounds like I might as well just keep outfield seats and sit in open green seats.

I've probably been asked 1,000 times 'how we gonna be coach?' My response? Do we have any choice? We better be pretty good. P Mainieri #LSU

I gotcha well like I said it is always good to have a solid middle relief/ setup guy so I like Joey B in that role as well. I just assumed Glenn would pitch on the weekend, but you never know with Coach. What's the word on Poche? Big arm?

No reason to think Glenn won't at a minimum have the Sunday job. Coach probably just trying to (continue to) make an example of Cody for whatever went down last year.

As for Poche: Big strong lefty. Fastball can get up to 90 and the curve is his out pitch. only a freshman, but expected to contribute right away. A quintessential project for Dunn to get the most out of if the Tigers are going to make an Omaha run.

I will be pleasantly surprised if this team makes it to Omaha. I don't think we will even be a national top 8 seed by the end of the season, meaning we won't be in line to host a super regional unless whoever our region is paired with loses their region and we can be the substitute venue replacing them.

And before everyone jumps on me, remember I am usually accused of being a baseball sunshine pumper.

It's not unreasonable at all to think that we would be 9-16. We have to replace our #2 pitcher and several leaders, including the biggest of all in Cotton.

The schedule sets up pretty nicely for us. I think we will be there at the end.

I think we'll have a lot less power but we'll score more runs than last year. Will need to with questions in the pen.

Sorry if I really missed the boat on this. But why is today jacobys day? Why don't we make it officially Febuary 3rd and it can be a yearly thing?

That's exactly it: questions. Which means it could end up being anything from really good to really bad. McCune, Newman, Bugg, and Broussard could all have a great year. Then at some point Fury comes back. Understandably though, with things unknown it's easier to be cautious in our expectations.

I said 18-12 in the SEC. We finish in the top 10 in polls but no national seed.
