Surprised this is the first thread on this topic. Went back 12 pages.

What bars are going to be the go to for LSU fans? The SO and I are headed in late on Thursday night and we’ll be staying in Piedmont Heights.

Cant wait to fly out on Thursday. Is there a better buzz than one on a plane. Geaux Tigers!

Big Easy Grille on Collier Rd. and Atkins Park in Smyrna Village are supposedly alumni bars, but the crowds (while majority LSU) aren't always very large.

Atkins Park had a good crowd for the Bama game.

Baw ain’t driving out there.

Downtown (Although I’d steer clear of downtown if I could ... not as nice as midtown or Buckhead) and midtown. Maybe Buckhead. That’s where you need to go.

What will the tailgate scene be like? The wife and I are going to be kid free for the game and looking to have a good time.

You mean like setting up tailgate near the stadium or do you mean bars for LSU fans to party at before the game?

Atlanta is a dump, I’m in Douglasville right outside in a nice suburb. Thinking about putting my fully furnished basement on Airbnb it’s like a 15-20min ride from downtown

Del told me that the Park Bar near Centennial Park was suggested. Please post as soon as locations are decided.

Big Easy Grille on Collier Rd

I was there for the Florida game last year.

Yeah not a huge crowd but mostly all LSU there. There's TV and sound to go with it. The chef/owner is from Louisiana, the other owner is not. They have Abita on tap and the food is decent.

One of the mornings you need breakfast at the Silver Skillet on 14th st. Very close to Piedmont Heights neighborhood. Not quite walking distance, but very close, and very good old timey old fashioned zero-bullshite diner.

Your location is also right next to the Sweetwater Brewing facility, which is Atlanta's version of Abita. That should be worth a visit for you.

Sorry I can't help you find an LSU bar. I don't know of any.

I know when LSU came to Athens in 2013, every bar that opened early, before noon, became an LSU bar for the rest of the day.

As one bar owner told me, "The locals were eating breakfast, the cajuns were ready to drink!"

I go to Big Easy Grille for big games. Most recently, I was there for the Bama game, a lot of LSU fans watching in the outside area.

ElChapo, we are staying in Douglasville. How easy is it to get to the Stadium and bars from there? Just didn't feel like paying tons of money for hotel this weekend when I'm sure we will be paying out of the arse for the semis and finals.
