Playing music over the PA seems like a simple solution

Yeah agreed but you could easily do traditional piped in music and involve the bans as well..it's not rocket science. Football doesn't own the band either. Our band is one of the best in the country and interacts alot with the fans. When I hear the first down cheer etc over the intercom I just cringe it just doesn't have the same effect as the band. How could u possibly think any sporting event that involves our band shouldn't even be considered and is a terrible idea? Especially for only a few baseball games a year

Yeah I go to the Box. Just because I want the band to perform at big game doesn't mean I think the game atmosphere is not good enough u retard. I don't plan on missing many this year and always make plans to go. I drove 17 hours to watch us win a Title in 09. I'm simply suggesting for big games and take away all the bullshite excuses like the heat (don't wear the uniforms) and seating because we could make this happen in the outfield

Band at a baseball game would be stupid IMO

all depends on how it's done. if it's done like at a football game, yes i agree; but, there is already piped in music at certain times. imagine the band replacing that and playing a certain song when matty ice comes in and is warming up. boom! it needs to be the right kind of band make up; small but can play cool music; not football stuff. i think it would be great if handled right.

Completely agree. It would need to have a great mix between the that already is good for baseball that we traditionally use and the band coming together for different things such as chinese bandits for web gems and neck etc you could make this cool but not do top much at the same time.

Wouldn't that be tight for a big weekend series, regional, super regional etc
As long as they didn't perform for a 7th inning stretch...we need our fans awake and rowdy, not hypnotized to sleep

I would love to see it, but you just can't boot people who have already bought tickets. I think they could make it work by possibly setting something up in center or taking away some student tickets

taking away some student tickets
Yea frick that. Students wait in lines over 2 hours before the games for tickets. There is no way they should take tickets away from anyone to put a damn band in the stadium

Didn't Southern have a mini-band when we played there in 08?

Not sure, but I'd gladly let Southern come do some football half time shows on our field and let our band take a rest in the stands.

I'm 99% sure Southern, Grambling, Bethune Cookman, and/or whatever HBCUs played at USC/UCLA for the MLB Urban Classic had their bands there.

I Would never suggest taking away tickets for the fans I had mentioned that a couple times in my earlier. We aren't booting fans. It's if we could and only if we had it set up in the outfield near the bleacher seats by the intimidator wood we do it and for only two three games a year

Bands at baseball games are dumb, maybe if you had them do pregame and then leave, would be decent IMHO.....

Southern has a pep band at certain baseball games and its terrible and very distracting.....

The pep band makes a third of the attendance at a southern baseball game

Southerns pep band doesn't react with fans like LSU's does with it's fans. U really can't base a comparison to that cracker box of a stadium to Alex Box and also the bands arent comparable better everything compared in favor of LSU
