One concerning this is our Southeastern win...they followed up with an 87-35 loss to Nebraska. 35 points! I’m getting worried about our D

Well we followed it up with a team who went 3/17 shooting 3’s then went 19/33 against us. I hope it’s not a trend

I am too, but I'm willing to chalk it up to young/new players...right now.

Remember, most of the main contributors on this team are fresh from AAU/HS ball where very little defense is played. The good news is that the effort from most seems to be there. Smart really plays hard on D. Same for E. Williams. Taylor just plays hard, period. Reid might be the only one who is slightly "lazy" on D, but he'll give you all out energy when you have to have it.

IMO, desire is 75% of being a good defensive team/player. Communication and execution makes up the other 25%. If the effort is already there, then hopefully the defense can improve with more experience. I am a bit worried though that Wade may be making the defense a bit more complicated than necessary...which could lead to miscommunications, hesitancy and ultimately, guys being out of position because they don't quite know where they are supposed to be.

Right now LSU is ranked 120 in defensive efficiency with a VERY SMALL sample size (most teams have only played 1-3 games). That's by far the worst defensive ranking of the top 78 teams. There's no need to panic now. But, if they are still ranked somewhere in that range come early/mid December then I'll be worried.

I'm not all that worried about our defense. We ran into two shooters that wouldn't miss AND were not scouted to hit threes. I'd be much more worried if we were letting guys hit open three's that we expect to make them.

I love that we aren't allowing offensive rebounds and that we are forcing turnovers. That is what our defense will hang it's hat on.

Student section will have nice turnout. They are supposed to do another food giveaway tonight to get them to come. Hopefully individual ticket game sales are over 2500 for this game. Season tickets which are included in paid attendance are over 6500 of the tickets.

I'll also hold off on judging the defense, honestly they look good except for the open 3s, which I know is detrimental. But we had SELU locked down before Parker baw went off and UNCG went on a tear from 3 late in the last game.

Seems like a young team losing focus on defense late in the game for the time being, hope it gets corrected tonight.

This is where I'm coming from. I am not ready to worry about our defense that LOOKS much better than in previous years due to some unexplainable and irregular performances by 2 players who certainly weren't scouted to do what they did.

Our defense will always be prepared and know who should be shooting and who shouldn't. I don't think the first two performances from beyond the arc are a reasonable representation of how LSU is going to allow 3's. Those performances were opposite the scouting report.

not worried about our defense. We played a very good good UNC team on Friday. We weren't going all out against Southeastern.

I have a feeling we will play a complete game tonight.

I hope they’re not getting the chicken from the Burbank Popeyes. It’ll take hours to feed 500 students.

Was hoping for a bigger time tournament. Guess I'll have to wait until the postseason.

Villanova, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Memphis, UAB, and College of Charleston is a really really good field. Most of these tourney's are setup 2-3 years out and in college basketball things can change very quickly. Canisius is the "worst" team in the conference and they went 21-12 last year and played in a postseason tourney.

There are no bad games in this, and all of these teams play one another in a game before the tourney further helping the RPI of all that participate.

Definitely could see us in the Preseason NIT next year as we did the Maui Inv last year, also our St. Mary's game in Vegas counts as kind of an extra in season tourney game
