In a shootout, Mizzou wins.

IMO, LSU would win. More talent and a much better defense.

their OOC schedule? Surely, you're not serious.

overall...OOC doesn't mean anything and saying that Buffalo and Nevada is tougher than Appy State and NTexas is frankly splitting hairs and you know it D

exactly, so how are you going to penalize them if they start conference play a week later?

It wasn't long before I had to leave anyway. So it was going to stop sooner or later.

I agree Mizzou shouldn't be ahead of us. I thought we would be about 5 in both polls.

If it were the other way around and Mizzou beat a ranked team and jumped LSU after playing weak teams, you guys would be PISSED.

Nope, we would not be pissed. If Missouri beat a top-10 ranked opponent on the road and LSU was in a battle with the almighty Buffalo for 3 quarters, then Missouri would deserve to jump over LSU.

so i guess we get to hear about how great boise state is for the rest of the season while they beat quality teams such as utah state, new mexico state, hawaii, idaho, and san jose state.

hopefully they are left out if they go undefeated.

Penn St. seems to be pretty damn good to me.

State Penn is probably more appropriate ... half of their team will be suspended by the end of the year.

I was hoping we would replace Florida at number 4, since Florida’s offensive line and running game is suffering.

I also believe that Missouri is over rated. While they have a killer offense, they have a weak and pathetic defense.

Aye, there's the rub that makes calamity of college football rankings. How can LSU beat UofF'd, UGA, Bama, et al and not be the top ranked team at the end of the regular season?

Mizzou has a good offense that has not seen a talented well-coached defense. That is not likely to change unless they meet OU in the BigXII championship. Meantime, SEC gets jobbed by having UW and, for Heaven's sake, TTU ahead of 'Bama!? OSU ahead of Aubieland? Gimme a break.

The system has devolved to an exercise in folly and favoritism. Need to do better.

If we were to beat all those teams plus auburn at auburn and win the sec championship game, trucst me we will be in the BCS championship game,,, however we have only taken the first step of that journey so far!!

That would be meet and right, but I remain, as ever, skeptical.

Good question. Boise had never beat a BCS team on the road before that. That offense is being exposed as a quarterback killer. I'm shocked Dixon lasted as long as he did

Because Mizzou hasn't reached their conference schedule yet, they get penalized?
LSU was penalized because of Hurricane Gustav and Missouri passed LSU in the ranking in the process.....LSU then beats a top 10 team on the road and Missouri is in a dog fight with Buffalo for 3/4 of its game. Now who's really penalized? OK, if LSU plays Troy as expected, Missouri likely doesn't pass LSU in the polls and according to the voters, LSU's 3-0 record vs App St, Troy, and NT is worthy of a better ranking than Mizzou but LSU's 3-0 record vs App St, NT, and Auburn is not. No way Mizzou deserves to be ranked ahead of LSU.
