That was the 78 (not84game) blowout game. Remember it well as a student. That Ensminger to Woodley to Alexander trick play for a TD was a thing of beauty. And we all thought Cholly Mac was a boring offensive play caller.

john ferguson... john...it is amazing how much more he knew about the game, players and what was happening than the one that followed.

And that link was the 70 Game where we pummeled Archie and his Rebel friends (who had a broken non-throwing arm in a cast that game) 61-17. First LSU game I ever watched as a kid when I fell in Love with LSU having just moved to BR. Very unique back then was that ABC moved the game to prime time Sat night as their game of the week.

That was neat. I had never seen highlights from that game.

Is Rogie Magee (LSU #80) related to Terrance?

Some of the young women in the crowd were dressed to the nines for the game.

I watched the 61 17 game on TV when an oil tank blew up near Newark Airport and the house shook. Good to see a game with people not dressed like slobs or fools. Also watching the game and not texting or talking on a cell Phone.

Yes Tiger Stadium was a religious experience then

Few thoughts on the '84 game:
- Same attendance as last Sat
- In '84 we had already tied UF in season opener and lost to ND. We
- Had lost Barbay and Thomas to injuries so our DL was decimated by this game. Andolsek may have started as a true FR at DT (was later moved to OL).
- Dale's pick-6 was one of the great plays in Tiger history - should get more attention.
- John Ferguson was better than Hawthorne but people really overdo the criticism of Hawthorne. He's an excellent broadcaster all the same.
- That was Doug Moreau doing the commentary way back then.

Purple jerseys at home...

The mid-field logo was like 10 yards longer then than it is today...

I don't think so... it looks like it's off-centered though. It's between the north 45 and the 50.

What is the red and blue in the SEZ? Is that the Ole Miss insignia painted in a Tiger Stadium endzone? Or is the footage so old and grainy that the colors are corrupted?
