I said he is overrated. People think Stafford is all-world. He's average. People think JPW is average. He's average. So, naturally Stafford will be drafted higher. Look at the stats from previous years. Numbers don't lie.

As I said before, he is overrated. People see him as better than he is for some reason. JPW is not overrated. People see him as the average QB that he is. Therefore, that would be a sucker bet.

dude, you're an idiot. i actually think stafford may be slightly overrated, but he is well above an average quarterback. he's a first round nfl draft pick, and the nfl gm's and scouts know more than you do.

I think Staff is a high draft pick and loved by the announcers/draftniks,and such due to his awesome physical skills. Doesnt mean he doesnt try to get by with those skills too much and throw off his back foot into traffic. So, yeah, he is a very good Qb, but also prone to pull a "Favre" from time to time as I call it.

One thing I would also point out, even though it somewhat disputes a fellow Dawg's point...draft position is one measurable of QB play, but I personally think that isnt the way I would measure it. I would take the David Greene's, Jay Barkers, Danny Weurrffel (sp), etc over some of the big guns to lead my college team. None of those guys made Mel Kiper very happy.

All that said Staff > JPW.

Good argument. I definitely don't profess to be an expert. But, at the beginning of the year when everyone was talking about how great he was I started looking at the stats. I don't think JPW is great and his stats last year were almost identical to Staffords.

JPW was a Junior last year, Stafford was a Sophmore. Fair comparison is Staffords stats this year against JPWs from last.

yeah agree with that. stafford never puts up the numbers and threw for his first 300 yd game this year.

Stafford is agood pro prospect and has a lot of talent, but is often erratic and a lot of tiems his accruacy seems to be off.

LSU will bring the house on Stafford. Moreno will get his 120 or more yards. UGA will not have enough left by the time the 4th quarter comes around. That's why I'm picking LSU by 10.

Stafford has one of the best arms in College Football.
That's all I ever hear. A strong arm alone does not a great quarterback make. He has to have good decision making ability, and be a good leader. He may have all that, but everyone seems to think all he needs to prove he's so awesome is a strong arm.

Yeah, genius, because draft pick number is the DEFINITIVE way to measure who's a better quarterback.

+1 How many wins did JaMarcus Russell have over Georgia with his cannon arm?
